He made a visit to SickKids Hospital too. Could have been just that + his business ventures.

Pretty sure he's here because of his deal with Canada Goose. He made a deal with them in the summer for his jacket and that "shopping" pic he posted was just him posing holding 4 Canada Goose bags giving them a plug.

Yeah I think he cared more about hunting than baseball. Still he had a fantastic career and was one of the best pitchers during that decade.

The owner of the Astros bought him a Bulldozer for getting them to the World Series!

Bautista just posted a pic on Instagram of him shopping at Yorkdale mall.

Signing imminent???

No other reason for him to be here during this s***** weather.

I don't get why people would spend over $1000 for a winter jacket. You could easily pay for a long-haul overseas flight for that amount.

You don't understand why people spend money on something when they could spend that money on something else?

There are some things I could justify spending $1000 on. For clothes, I don't mind spending that on a nice suit when I need one next. At least with a good suit, you'll get good use out of it and they last a long time. Couldn't spend that money on a winter jacket that I'll only wear for maybe 3-4 months of the year when I could buy one for $150-$200 and it does exactly the same thing.

Plus, I'd rather use that $1000 towards booking a flight somewhere rather than spending it on a Canada Goose jacket, which to me are extremely overrated.

You'll probably wear your winter jacket more in one season than you will your suit over a 10 year period (unless you wear it for work)...

With your suit - you also risk growing out of it or it going out of style over a long period. You're better off with the $300 suit IMO.

The answer is don't pay full price for the jacket. I splurged for a $1400 Kjus ski jacket last year when it was on sale for $600. I also have a $200 Spyder and there is no comparison. The Kjus jacket is phenomenal. I use it skiing and for everyday use and it's a significantly better investment than a suit IMO.

The other point which can't be overlooked is the Jose jacket is just f'ing ugly. Don't buy ugly clothes

$150-200 definitely doesn't get you a jacket that does the same thing. More like $500. It's overpriced because of domestic material and labour cost, but it's a top of the line brand with amazing quality. People like to spend money differently. I don't know why you find this so hard to understand.

I get free alterations for life. Not growing any taller, maybe wider as I age lol. Still have a Hugo Boss three-piece suit I bought from 2010 and fits just fine.

If you go skiing on a regular basis, good for you and I'm sure you get good use out of that gear which is meant for skiing/snowboarding. For an average person like myself, a regular North Face jacket or pea jacket is fine in the winter. I never pay full price for any clothing. I always buy when there is a sale on if I need it. I've never been a fan of Canada Goose and I can't believe people will easily drop $1000 for one of their jackets is all that I was saying.

I don't really care how people spend or blow their money to be honest. I was just saying I don't understand the fascination with Canada Goose jackets at that cost, especially that Jose Bautista one which is pretty ugly.

An average person who doesn't mind dropping a grand on a suit?

You must be the proud owner of a Canada Goose jacket. Didn't mean to trigger you.

I guess people here wear a lot of Wal-Mart brand coats. Difficult to find a great men's coat for under 600 dollars.

Sears AlpineTek Down Parka goes on sale for ~$99 every now and again and is basically the same thing as a Canada Goose coat except with a different logo. Its almost too warm.

That thing is all polyester. You're not getting a quality parka for $99 LMAO

Its no different from Canada Goose LOL. Canada Goose "Arctic Tech" material is 85/15 Polyester/Cotton...this thing is 83/17. Its 90/10 Down fill.

Its a legit coat. Is it "as nice" as a Canada Goose coat? No, but I don't think its ~$800 less nice either.

This logic is brilliant, Boxy for the save

Does any team have interest in signing Bautista? The Jays have moved on (though still possible), Orioles don't want to anger their fans, Red Sox don't see a fit, Yankees and Giants aren't that interested. The only report that came out which a team showed interest was the Jays and Indians and that was 15 days ago. The market for him seems to be non existent
