fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 I don't understand why you'd spend 1000 dollars on a Canada Goose coat when you could spend that money to move to a place that doesn't have winter. There's nothing wrong with spending money on things you like lol... I love spending money on clothes, I got a Moose Knuckle jacket and man it's better than any other jacket I've ever owned. I also really want to buy a Gucci Belt (that's next up). As far as I see it, if you make enough money to pay your bills and have some extra left you can spend on yourself from time to time
intrigid Verified Member Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Spending big money on good clothes is legit. But Canada Goose is not a smart buy. It's popular but not fashionable. You're paying for the Canadian labor and that's about it.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Does any team have interest in signing Bautista? The Jays have moved on (though still possible), Orioles don't want to anger their fans, Red Sox don't see a fit, Yankees and Giants aren't that interested. The only report that came out which a team showed interest was the Jays and Indians and that was 15 days ago. The market for him seems to be non existent http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/12/latest-on-market-for-jose-bautista.html There was a quote the other day that said the Rays are monitoring the market and could step up and sign him if the price is right (Bautista resides in the Tampa area)
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 It sure appears Texas has room for either Jose or Edwin unless they are set going into the year with Profar and Gallo at 1st and DH.

Plus with a protected first round pick the Rays are in the same spot as the Jays, they'd lose their balance pick which is also in the 30s I believe.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Sears AlpineTek Down Parka goes on sale for ~$99 every now and again and is basically the same thing as a Canada Goose coat except with a different logo. Its almost too warm. No.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Should we start a fashion thread in the OT forum? Nothing wrong with being warm while looking fabulous.
Governator Community Moderator Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Nothing wrong with being warm while looking fabulous. Do you have a release date set for your Metrosexual Guidebook?

glory Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Man, if JB/EE end up in Oakland and Tampa due to lack of other options, that would actually be pretty sad.

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Blue Jays have not offered Jose more than the $17.2M qualifying offer: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/12/blue-jays-have-not-offered-jose-bautista-more-than-qualifying-offer.html So if both reports happen to be true, he could be signing a pretty team-friendly deal.

While he may well end up back here, I don't believe he'd turn down a fair deal from another team just because he wants to play for the Jays. I'd guess it's more about PR in that if he signs here on a relatively low cost deal, he and his agent can say it's because he loves it here, and not because no one else wanted him at a fair price.

Probably true, and i'd be totally fine with that. Make it look like Bautista is the good guy, rather than make the front office look like bad guys.

Main sticking point is going to be the length of contract - will the Jays offer 3 years? Would Bautista accept 2?
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Poor Jose. He wants to stay in Toronto with a long term deal, and Toronto doesn't want him.

Main sticking point is going to be the length of contract - will the Jays offer 3 years? Would Bautista accept 2? He's not getting 3 or 2 years lol. It'll be a one-year deal.

If he really does want to come back here, he should take a 1 year deal and move on. Even with a another mediocre year by his standards he'll be offered 12-14 mil on another 1 year deal somewhere, especially without teams giving up a draft pick.
bendera3 Verified Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 2/$30 wouldn't cripple us with the understanding that he will see very little time in the corner outfield, primarily 1st base, and some DH.

closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 If it is any more than 2 years then it should be incentive laden. If he wants a big money long term deal then he has to earn it.
