TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Successful teams like the Dodgers make moves that leave the world of baseball marveling. Teams like the Phillies and Marlins call their fans dumn.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Latos and Wood were solid additions, surprised at how little they gave up to get it done. They gave out some decent pieces, but mostly just acquired all of the contracts that nobody wanted because they can afford to pay it. It's quite the brilliant use of your resources.

sdyment Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I'm curious why the Dodgers took cash from both teams. Why not take better talent instead of cash? Am I missing something here?
bendera3 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Chris Heisey for LF? Just DFA by the Dodgers.

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Alcantara, Almora and Olt are all out of their respective Cubs MiLB lineups tonight.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Yeah, no s*** they'd be willing to trade Bruce for Wheeler...
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Yeah, no s*** they'd be willing to trade Bruce for Wheeler... That was my first thought, but Bruce has been pretty decent this year
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I wouldn't mind grabbing Beachy as along man in the pen. He could move to the rotation next year if needed, but he's probably not quite ready yet.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Parra may be going to the Orioles for Davies. Lookout Landing is the source, so it isn't entirely reliable, but they did just break part of the Brewers/Astros deal.

Lookout Landing is the source, so it isn't entirely reliable, but they did just break part of the Brewers/Astros deal. Yuck. Hope he's being used for DH duties.. his OF defense is awful. (-0.7 dWAR) And this'll make the O's farm system the worst in baseball, with the Tigers adding 3 pitchers for Price. Used to be a gold glover.. but his defense has taken a dive after the 2013 season (injury? age?)
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Alcantara, Almora and Olt are all out of their respective Cubs MiLB lineups tonight. Padres bound with Starlin Castro for Ross + others?
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Might see a flurry of action soon.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Might see a flurry of action soon. And the Orioles look to be doing nothing.. except blowing a top pitching prospect for a decent hitting OF whose defense is well below replacement level now..
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 After seeing the amount of O's outrage over this rumor, I'm kinda beginning to really hope that the Parra for Davies thing has wings.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 White Sox want a run producing bat? How's a bout EE
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy, Dave Stewart alert! Dave Stewart alert! Get the trashbag of popcorn ready!
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 The Diamondbacks are really f***ing stupid if they think they have a shot to do anything this year. This is adjusted for the fact that I already think they are the second dumbest team in baseball.

This is adjusted for the fact that I already think they are the second dumbest team in baseball. This is probably gonna be some convoluted, idiotic plan by the D-Back to convert Chapman to a starter. Oh, and imagine Chapman's fastball playing for the "gritty, old school" D-Backs who love to "send a message". Oh dear.
bronson44 Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Not that I want him, but is there any f***ing no-trade list we are not on? Imagine how hard it is to lure free agents here.
