BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Rather just give Pompey a shot Agreed more upside and more Dingers too! This deal is one I do not like especially if a Pompey or Alford goes the other way!
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Revere would be good, we definitely need that lefty bat. I hope we can also land a RP too somehow. Both Pompey and Smoak are switch hitters, they just need to play them
jays76 Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 At this point I'd throw in anyone they want except Stro...Hutch, Sanchez, Pompey, Alford, who cares! It's a nice fantasy but I think the Carrasco dream is over.
BlueBirdBro Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Revere leading off would be nice. Stealzzz
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Both Pompey and Smoak are switch hitters, they just need to play them Pompey is no guarantee. There is a difference between hitting AAA pitches and MLB pitches
jays76 Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Both Pompey and Smoak are switch hitters, they just need to play them Yeah we're just so righty dominant that one more lefty would help us out for the late inning strategics with opposing bullpens. I like Pompey but I still don't think he's ready for primetime just yet. I really wanted Parra but oh well.
GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I see value in Revere as a good 4th OF with control. He can play all 3 spots and has speed on the bench and while he doesn't walk, he does not strikeout either. I am not saying he is a must, but if the price is reasonable he would be a good pickup and wouldn't necessarily block Pompey from becoming a regular either. Maybe Amaro could be tempted with D.J. Davis. I wouldn't give up more than that.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I thought revere was supposed to be good at defense but apparently not...
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Pompey is no guarantee. There is a difference between hitting AAA pitches and MLB pitches Exactly, so let's see what he can do and if he doesn't meet expectations Saunders will be back or they can acquire someone through trade.

GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Probably Cashner and Ross ending up on Boston and Chicago.
jays76 Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Exactly, so let's see what he can do and if he doesn't meet expectations Saunders will be back or they can acquire someone through trade. There's not really time to tinker though, there's 60 games left in the midst of a wide open intense playoff drive. Things are too serious now to observe Pompey or hope Saunders is back and game ready.
jays76 Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 REVERE IS s***, come on guys That speed though Ang.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Cespedes is in play, Tigers selling hard

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 That speed though Ang. 4% walk + .050 ISO = Throws strikes to that crappy hitter. He's not Juan Lagares.

They're running Bello and Carrera out there, it's not like Pompey is going to be any worse than those guys and at least he'll actually play decent D.
