The streak is at 1.  Win tonight and we are at 2.  Someone laughed when I said we go 20-5 but we are 4% of the way there.  8% after tonight.

I will update this when I have more news on the streak and the playoff situation.

as the situation stands now we are closing in on a playoff spot and making up ground quickly.

Series W followed by an off day to get the bullpen some rest and then a Dylan Cease start

Is the season back on? Some people are saying it is.

Someone in the GDT said they should trade for Skubal and Tatis Jr. Like wow

I've been making tons of mock deadline deals where we're buyers.

The trades I am coming up with are impeccable. If I could somehow get them to Ross he'd probably hire me on the spot.

The only problem is that most of the teams I'd want to trade with are actually ahead of us in the standings.

Ross is eating dinner tonight at Harbour 60 - I know the hostess at the front desk, she can get you a table right next to his.

JS said after today's game that our rotation will stay the same for this week. It means Gausman is planned to start on Saturday.

If Atkins doesn't trade Gausman before the deadline, he should be fired immediately.

What does that have to do with the deadline?

We are buyers

We need a #2 starter and a couple hall of fame bats

Trade for Skubal, Buxton and one more All-Star bat and the playoffs will be easy to make

Buxton got hurt again 😂

As bleak as it's seems, it's still hard for me to believe that this team does not have a hot streak in them. Just by virtue of the 162 game season at some point everybody has a hot streak, even s*** teams.

Granted if we aggressively sell pieces, I can't see it happening. We literally have no rotation depth beyond the guys that are here. So I expect all hope to be evaporated by the trade deadline.

But as is, it's still hard for me to completely give up on this team.

A 20 win July did wonders for Red Sox. A 20 win June did wonders for Miami.

Only need 39-13 to get to 90 wins.

And you might only need 88 to make it this year

that simply requires a few guys to return to career norms... Vlad obviously and you have a hall of fame bat right there.  Springer/Kirk not hall of fame level but good enough if at career norms....

We have like 3 number 2 starters if they play at their talent level....

That’s 3 out of the last 4 boys

Only 4.5 games back

We aren't dead yet

When the 2023 Angels were in this situation did they give up?  Hell no.

When Donald J. Trump was impeached twice and convicted of felonies like 100 times did he give up?  Hell no

When Vlad started hitting like Josh Kasevitch's 30th percentile projection, when Bieber and Yesavage started walking 5 or so an inning some starts, when Ernie Clement lost his defense, when Barger lost his elbow, and when Gausman and Springer sold their houses and packed their luggage did Ross Atkins give up?

I'd like to say hell no.  Tell Gausman and Springer too bad you sold your house losers, but the Toronto Blue Jays do not give up.

* DJT example not political just an example of not giving up and how sometimes it works out., though the 2023 Angles are a counter-example as to how sometimes not giving up doesn't work out.

7.8%

Playoff odds go from 56% to 7.5% in 3 weeks negative nancies have mental break down and punch window out, some stitches needed, positive pete's grudgingly admit playoff odds below 10 is a tough one.

Playoff odds go from 7.5% to 7.8% in 3 days, negative nancies and positive petes all back on the bandwagon and feeling good.  7.8% is halfway to 15.6% is haflway to 31.2% is halfway to 62.4 % which is better then even odds.

7.8 percent chance to make the playoffs but there is less than a 7.8 percent chance that whatever turd we get for 2 months of Kevin Gausman or a bum like Daulton Varsho is going to materially contribute to winning anytime soon anyway.

If we sweep the Cardinals this weekend let’s ride.
