I wouldn't have gave Vlad the big contract. Traded him for big haul instead. Those big contracts are a risk. I think Tampa has right idea there. Good young player get 4-5 years out of him trade him for 3 good young players. Might lose some trades but averaged out you will do much better.

Having two off days in same week good for pitching staff.

This management seems like good ability finding buried talent. Bateman not the first. Clement was good find. Pitchers they got for Clemens was good find. Lukes another one.

Jays have about 1 in 4 or 5 chance of getting in playoffs. Usually one of those teams bunched up gets hot. Has a good September. Could be Jays but doubtful. A few years ago in hockey I said Habs have 25% chance at conference finals. A couple fellows looked right at me. It was the year they went to Cup finals. I said Leafs don't seem to have the will to win. Matthews and those guys. Usually in playoffs that puts you over. Playoffs seem rougher and tougher. Takes that great passion for the game. While regular season is more skill oriented. They got to conference finals then upset Vegas.
