So nice to have a free sweep on the schedule. Have to go play a real Baseball team tomorrow.

Bye bye Bosux.

Currently perusing their Roster Resource page to see what players I want from them at the deadline

They are terrible so it is slim pickings but it's not going to stop me from spamming Twitter with my favorite one-sided deals anyway

Heiny was now history, thanks for your service

but very nice to have two reliable Catchers

Trey made a couple of mistakes but he preserved our Bullpen

Excellent close out by Flu

Please continue the success in Wrigley Field

Love it.  He should be done for the day now though.

Goddammit he should have been taken out after 7

No guarantee Nance would have been better but we all saw it

Come on now if you've been watching baseball for more than a minute you should know there's no such thing as a free sweep.

Red Sox are rubbish. These are 3 games you need to take and they took them.

Just because a team is bad it doesn't mean you should automatically sweep them. I'd expect you to know better than that but apparently that's not the case.

I haven’t been watching much this year but based on watching box scores do we leave Yesavage out too long literally every single start? What are we doing…

He was at 85 pitches after 7 and the bullpen was wrecked. It was a fine decision. Didn't work out.

Basically it goes like this, if the other team scores runs it's John Schneiders fault. He either left the starter in too long, took him out too early, or took him out at the right time but used the wrong reliever.

Given the bullpen situation it was a justifiable decision.

After yesterday Yesivage is like .350 .450 .750 lifetime third time through the order.

It won't remain that crazy but it seems like this is a pretty hard call.  The 3rd time through the order effect is pretty big, and most of the time makes sense to take the guy out.

Game 2 of World Series Gausman was cruising, then 3rd time through in the seventh 2 quick homers just like yesterday.  Almost impossible to take a guy out after retiring 19 in a row though, even if the data said it was the right thing to do.

Today was probably Grant's best day of 2026.

In no particular order:

  • His wedding
  • Birth of his first child
  • June 18, 2026 when the Jays swept the Red Sox and ended their season

Sad that Grant and Spanky had to both leave apparently.   This is why I say we all have to set a good example and be nice to even the ones we hate, just so things don't get out of control.

I want to say Grant is younger than I thought.  Like he may not even have been born when Junior Felix hit an inside the park homerun to propel the Blue Jays to the greatest comeback in baseball history.

He would have been born obviously when Raimiel Tapia hit an inside the park grand slam to destroy the Red Sox.  So many great moments.  Some bad ones too, like when they came back against the Nationals last day of the season to eliminate the Blue Jays.

Most of the regulars and long time fans, I have no doubt would know this fun fact of our beloved Jays.

5x in their storied history as a franchise, they had an eleven games winning streak.

three of those happened around mid June when the heat of the summer is about to kick in

hopefully the pitchers and most of our hitters can come together and put up great numbers as a unit

Team is getting healthier, maybe they can start another streak in 2026.

Go Jays !
