With Schneider, IKF and Straw in your lineup, who's coming off the roster for Bo?

Probably Loperfido since he wasn’t even given an at bat this series

That's a definite possibility although one is a LHH outfielder and the other a RHH infielder.

The thinking may be a little different now that they don't have to worry about the next series.  They may roster Bo over IKF or Schneider and replace him if he re-aggravates his knee.

It'll be interesting to see what roster and lineup decisions they do make.  So many questions.  Can Bo play short?  Can Springer play the outfield?  Do you want to lose the defense Giminez provides even against a tough lefty like Snell?

I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Game 1 lineup prediction:

Springer - Schneider - Vlad - Bo - Kirk - Varsho - Clement - IKF - Straw

Do you flip Clement and Schneider v. LHP?   Clement is red hot too.

Is thinking the Jays have the better offence a hot take?

-Dodgers have the better SP and RP.
-We have the better defence.

It's one sided, but we have more than a non-zero chance.

That said, they handled the Brewers without breaking a sweat.

Yes probably a good idea.

The Dodgers pitching performing as well as it has to this point is a bit of a red herring imo:

They faced the Reds who only made the postseason due to a historic collapse by the Mets. I don't think it's hyperbole to say they rank as one of the worst offenses in history to make the postseason (90 OPS+ for a team that plays in Great American Ballpark is absurd)

They faced the Phillies who are incredibly top-heavy with Schwarber/Harper/Turner. The lineup kind of runs out of steam after that. Realmuto/Castellanos/Stott/Bohm are either ok hitters and/or past their prime. The reason the Phillies were here was due to their pitching, not so much their offense.

The Brewers are a good lineup, but I would hesitate to call them great or deep. I watched all 4 of the games of the NLCS, and it just felt like they totally abandoned the approach that got them there and were beating themselves. They are also just not as good of a contact hitting team as the Jays.

This is the first time this postseason that the Dodgers pitching is facing a lineup that is clicking on all cylinders and has been consistent. How is Blake Snell going to react when Ernie Clement is grinding out AB's and just when you think you have him out, he pokes a 3-2 pitch into LF for a single? Without knowing it, they'll be forced to go to their shaky bullpen in the 4th inning and at that point it's anyones game. This whole Jays offense thrives on extending AB's even if they are not getting hits to put pressure on pitchers. Their whole goal is to win every pitch and get to a next one in the hopes that there is a mistake, and I don't think Dodgers SP have really faced a team that not only has that hitting philosiphy, but is executing as well as we are

Their offense isn't exactly on fire either. 15 runs in the 4 game sweep of the Brewers. We almost scored that many off of Kirby and the Mariners in Game 3.

Dodgers bullpen is dog s***. Why do you automatically assume they win that category. Jays isn’t good but Dodgers are easily worse. Got a little more passable with Roki. But if the Jays get to the Starters it will be a lot more exposed.

If their starters go 7-8 IP every game, their pen is pretty good.

Still buzzing and watching multiple times YouTube videos. Man that was so special!  In terms of the World Series - we need to win the first game to have a good chance. Whilst their pen is not great, they do have quality openers who are better than ours. But on the flip side we are very deep on our bats so if we get to them early - who knows. Super excited. My son will be there for the opener!  Fingers crossed we get the w!

The Dodgers lost only 1 game in the playoffs so far.

Gotta win Game 1 and get ahead.

They were very close to losing 2 other ones.  They got lucky with a bad call for a walk and then the error to walk off.  Then a late 3 run home run to win 5-3.  Sasaki won’t be able to handle the pressure, Ohtani will also be pressing.  He might have one good game but he will go 3-21 or something with a few walks

Bassitt actually looked pretty good out of the pen didn't he lol

His fastball was 3 mph faster and had some tail to it

That was a crafty move by Schneids

Yeah, he looked great, hit 96 on the gun.

until Sasaki started closing games, bullpen isn't elite but far from dog s***

Littles worst line of the year was at LAD.  Was 2-1 LAD in the 7th.

2 walks, fielders choice missed tag at home and a hit and 1 ER.  Then Varland comes in to cash in 2 more of Littles run for 3 ER

Need to get him redemption, hopefully in a high leverage spot.

Can we just freeze time and never have to play this series?

this is less stress than the ALCS.  Media has crowned dodgers champs and we are nearly 2-1 under dogs.  Pressure is on them to not choke.

I still think we are at least 40-60 and do expect to win though through shear luck, a few things going our way.  Some unexpected performances and a couple off games for the dodgers starters.

I expect disappointing performances from anyone Japanese

John Fkn Schneider is managing the all-star game next year haha

Must be a dream to be able to make all those pitching changes lol

Poor DS sits on the bench for like 2 weeks and then has to face Blake Snell in Game 1 of the World Series.

Very good chance he sits with IKF/Bo playing instead.  If Springer has to play the OF then putting Schneider out there might be too weak out there.  Could see Straw getting the nod over him.

Crazy idea but how about Heineman?  IKF as emergency catcher.
