Dude is on fire and will continue to burn whoever pitches to him.

Ward swings like Muncy though, I found that pretty interesting. Atkins should give Fried man a call - Ward looks like Horwitz with a ton more power Outman was great in 2023, both offensively and defensively (although the strikeouts were a tad high). Then the next year the Dodgers went out on the FA market, bought a bunch of high priced outfielders and stuffed him back in AAA. Even when he's come back up he hasn't gotten regular at bats. He's continued to hit in the minors though. IMO the Twins are going to be really happy with that pickup. It makes me worry a little bit for Zyhir Hope and Mike Sirota.

Win now mode will do that to a team. 2023 seems so long ago for Outman, all I remember is his swings and misses, PCL stats, as you probably already know, are inflated. Essentially gave away so many of their major league ready prospects, mckinstry/busch/lux/vargas.....and walked away from bellinger and seager. and now Outman Rushing possibly next to go...?

hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 re-watched the Bellinger bloop single.....Goldie had to hold up because it did look like Raefela was going to make the catch, I doubt a pinch runner reads it any differently. However, still should have pinch run for Goldie. at least puts more pressure on the dee....
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 Everyone who makes the playoffs, 100% deserves to be there. The only questionable things are when teams like NY who tie for first place in the league becomes a 4th seed. Jays24 1

This is the biggest sample we have in all of sports to figure your s*** out so if you cant then thats on you. It just comes down to preference... Mets vs Dodgers would have been more fun.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 Chase DeLauter commits a costly first inning error in his first chance at the MLB level, in the playoffs. Must feel like he wants the earth to swallow him right now. Poor kid.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 Obviously the sun played a big factor but once he picked the ball up again he seemed to take his eye off the ball on the catch attempt. Definitely the nerves getting to him.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 Ouch - feel bad for the kid. But it didn't cost him. Bibee picks him up and K's the side.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 Tanner Bibee picks up the rookie and strikes out the side. Nice.
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 lol Guardians are the first team since the 87 Twins to make the postseason with a negative run differential. No wonder DeLauter is being considered their best hitter already
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 Starting Valera immediately pays off for Steve Vogt and the Guards.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 I remember Valera was previously a big prospect for them. Top 100 in 2022, reaching AAA as a 21 year old. Fizzled out after that but is only 24 still.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 Casey Mize suxxx, just missed giving up two bombs in the first inning. Feel like that Manzardo flyball at 104 mph with 27 degree LA goes out in quite a few ballparks under normal conditions. G-Snarls 1
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 I'm sure Delauter wanted more balls hit to him ASAP to get the monkey off his back Done
Masterbather Verified Member Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 I predict the Guardians and Padres stay alive today. I think the Yankees and Reds are done.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 DeLauter narrowly misses striking out in his first appearance by just barely clipping the ball and having it bounce before reaching the catcher's glove, to later walking.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 Kayfus and DeLauter are both names to watch for the future in Cleveland, both top 100 prospects with good offensive numbers in the minors. Both players 23 going on 24.

Some horrendous bats up the middle. Maybe Bazzanna and Cooper Ingle. Orgfiller 1
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 Cleveland lineup, ages: Kwan - 28, veteran Valera - 24, rookie Ramirez - 33, veteran, elite HOF talent Manzardo - 25, sophomore Bo Naylor - 25, third season Arias - 25, third season DeLauter - 24, literally making his debut Kayfus - 24, rookie Rocchio - 24, third season

Young catcher and they tend to take longer to develop. At 25 it's not rare to see catchers making their debut or really coming into their own in their second season or so. Minor league pedigree of being a good hitter, could take that next step. I think Arias and Rocchio are pretty bad though and they should definitely try to upgrade there.
