Should've pinch hit Gimenez for Straw. Leave Lukes at first to create a hole for the LHB. Grind out ABs with Bednar's arm falling off. That would've been the move.

Not sure I get that hit and run. Also I would have put Giminez in for Straw with the short porch in left plus with the runner on first.

Heck I'd have Giminez hit for Straw regardless.

wow SN crew is roasting Scherzer for the inside pitch to Rice ....

Home runs have been a problem for him.

At the end of the day he gave up 4 runs in 4.1. He wasn't terrible but he wasn't great.

It should also be noted that Bo Bichette is a complete pussy.

His next contract demands include a lifetime supply of vagisil to keep it from drying up again.

Missed one of the most important games of the season with ouchie-itis.

This is a legitimate contender for the worst post of the year award. Not surprising given it comes from the leading contender for least valuable poster award as well

He basically has a bruise with a small cut. It's not an injury that will get worse like a hamstring or a groin. Literally an ouchie.

I had a giant knot on my shin in high school once and ran a race in pain. So now we're supposed to baby a professional athlete in a game that could help decide the division? Especially when winning the division could have a huge impact on our playoffs overall.

I'd love to hear your explanation as to how this is acceptable in any way from a well-paid franchise type professional athlete.

The only thing softer than athletes these days are fans.

Why are you so quick to assume that this was even Bo's decision in the first place? Just so you could post some fake macho ******** and insult a player who is nursing an injury? It was mentioned during the broadcast that Bo was noticeably limping in the clubhouse and I have no doubt this factored into the decision to sit him for the game to give him a few days off to heal up.

The only thing softer than athletes these days appears to be your brain. Given how excited you were about posting about how the Yankees were going to sweep the Blue Jays you should be happy that Bo missed this game.

If Bo says he wants to play he's playing. He played yesterday after the injury and Schneider indicated it's that time of year where you got to play through things.

Let me ask you this, why is he running like he aged 10 years this year? It's because he's protecting his legs for free agency so he can get the bag. Does it benefit the Jays that he's healthy? Sure, but that's not his priority. Bo is playing for Bo this year. He's playing for the bag and I guarantee you his father's influence is all over it.

You want to give him a great player free pass go ahead. If he insisted on playing this game he would have. It's strictly a pain management injury.

I guess you've never heard of post injury inflammation before. It's obvious that the injury felt much worse the day after it occurred. You haven't been paying attention whatsoever to how the Blue Jays have been managing injuries this season. All season long they've taken the opportunity to sit a player to get them 2 consecutive days off when a single game is followed by an off day. It's a small sacrifice to lose a player for a single game but to gain an opportunity to allow them to heal more effectively to avoid the injury becoming worse. But yet here you are insulting Bo Bichette for something that was obviously a team decision. Sigh.

I don't get why you feel the need to s*** all over Bo like he peed in your cornflakes or something. He suffered from a bunch of calf injuries and as a direct result he's slow in the field now. I thought you weren't too dense to recognize that baseball players who suffer from leg injuries don't always get their prior levels of speed back. This reminds me of Josh Donaldson who lost most of his foot speed after his own series of recurring calf injuries. I guess you also think that he was just playing for himself as well.

Apparently you hate Bo Bichette but that shouldn't come as a surprise as you generally act like you hate the entire Blue Jays organization from top to bottom.

I don't hate Bo, I personally hope they re-sign him if it's for a reasonable amount. But that doesn't mean he's beyond criticism because he's a good player for my baseball team. He doesn't read this board, so don't worry his feelings won't get hurt.

I guess we'll see once he has a long-term contract what his speed looks like maybe you're right maybe I'm right.

I know how the Blue Jays have managed injuries but this is different, it's only pain and it's not a small sacrifice when it's the most important game of your season in September. If this was another point in the season they wouldn't have even brought him back yesterday, we're in September, it's a huge series things are different now.

Clement is playing through a literal broken bone, Kirk had that nasty bruise on his throwing hand and kept playing because it's just pain. Bo couldn't even DH in the biggest game of the season?

Come on man. I think there's reason to be skeptical.

139 games played out of 143...leads the team in PA by about 32 over Vlad.

Before his injury plagued '23 and '24, played 159 in both '21 and '22

Yeah, f*** Bo. All he ever does is whine and take days off

None of that refutes what I just said. I never said he just whines and takes days off. I said he's playing for himself and his next contract. That's his top priority.

He should have played. Even as just a DH.  Imagine missing a game of this magnitude because running the bases would be a bit painful.

We're obviously living in a very different era. The more money players make the less fans expect of them. It's fascinating.

If there is pain that causes mechanics to change it could lead to a bigger injury.  The team may have simply told him he was a no go.  You just don't know.

Frustrating series, but it wasn’t a blasting like many were expecting. All 3 games were winnable to the very end. Caught some bad breaks and bounces. Could’ve hit better.

On to the Astros!

Bats just went quiet unfortunately.  It happens.  It was nice to see the pitching perform well.

If only we could get both working at the same time, we could be the best team in the AL!
