Is this actually sustainable from him?

I fully expected Varsho to hit at over a 60 HR pace. If anyone tells you different, they're lying.

That's one of those ones where I have no f***ing idea and it's ok that they stick with the original call either way.

This was such a Berrios start. His stuff looked kind of blah, his K/BB numbers were bad, and he just guts his way through 5 innings and gets the win.

Very strong win for the Jays.  Clement just keeps finding a way to contribute.

I remember in the offseason when fans were suggesting a Ha-Seong Kim signing and some (not me) suggested we already had our version of him who makes next to nothing in Clement.  How awesome is it to see that play out to be true.  Love it.

A small note, Ben Brown who relieved Assad yesterday, who didn't even pitch that poorly, got zero Ks. Is that notable? Well coming into the game he had a K/9 above 10, and he pitched 4 innings without a single strikeout, and only 4 whiffs in 55 pitches - 4 in 30 swings. Coming into the game his whiff rate was above 27% (it's reduced from what it used to be but not sure how to check what it was).

The offense is kind of a pain in the ass to face.

The some would be me. I'll take that W to weigh against the staggering accummulation of Ls

The Jays must be so annoying to face

Reminds me of the no K game against DeGrom

It's one of those skills where depending on the game can be awesome, or very frustrating. Awesome when you can chase a pitcher just cause you got them to waste so many pitches by fouling them off etc. Frustrating when it goes bad because everyone put the ball in play for an out after 2 pitches. It's been significantly more good than bad this year though.

It definitely runs hot and cold for sure. The good thing the Jays have in their favour is they also take their walks and have just enough power output to not truly rely on the babip gods to score runs most of the time.

Early in the season ... terrible to watch. They needed like 5 singles to score one run.
