For better or worse this team is going to mimic the 2023 team. As long as it leads to a post season berth that's fine, but chicks definitely won't be digging this team. Pitching, defense, and singles (lots of singles) will be the formula.

I mean, 2024 Vlad on the 2023 team would have made them pretty decent even with their flaws. The Jays need to bank on something like that. Basically the 2023 team except Vlad and Bo hit like stars at the same time. Only time that's happened since they came up is 2021. Definitely agree they need more though. If nothing else at least a starting 3B. Not sure where that comes from though.

I was sure that Shatkins found defence to be a market inefficiency, and you can get more WAR for less if the player plays defence first.

The problem they encountered was that they tried to turn their hitters into ''The Jays''  version of who they should be.  They never coached to their strengths.  Now, I guess, they have learned their lesson and are letting their hitters be themselves.

Scoring Runs and Preventing Runs should be equal in theory; you just need to acquire as much WAR as you can. 

And maybe some power from Vlad.  That would help.

Speaking as a chick I absolutely love pitching & defense. I'd rather watch a game knotted at nothing until the 9th than a blowout. Then again, I'm not a casual so....

Harrison Bader off to a nice start with the Twins could be a good option.
