I don't mind sacrificing his glove but I don't want a butcher to replace him is all I'm saying. right he projects as a slightly below average stick so hopefully he can trend that way
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 Are we about to see Hoffman blow another kiss to the opponents dugout today? Lol Terminator 1
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 Encouraging swings from Kirk today. Line drive @ 105 mph into left, hard hit flyball to RF (gone in Yankee Stadium).
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 Hey Springer is out there, that's a good sign

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 Roden's groundout came at 107 mph off the bat. His EVs are starting to creep up tremendously. BatFlip, max silver, Spanky99 and 1 other 4
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 Imagine being the Atlanta Braves About to drop to 5-13 unless Bryan De La Cruz and Eli White can tag Jeff Hoffman and the best defense in baseball for 3 runs lol G-Snarls, Orgfiller and Mikeleelop 3

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 That was basically identical to Kirk's swing but slightly better positioned.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 So according to Dan, that's a franchise record in combined Ks by the pitching staff over a 9 IP game with 19. WryNGinger 1
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 Well that series went the exact opposite of how I expected. Lose to Kenny Powers and then beat Schwellenbach and Strider. G-Snarls, Brownie19, Orgfiller and 2 others 1 4
AMS528 Verified Member Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 Nice win. Vlad's xwOBA is probably above .400 after today. He's had 1 year out of 6 where that number wasn't the same or close to his actual hitting numbers at the end of the season. Zero concerns with his hitting for now. Bichette's on it as well. If those two play (plus Gausman) play like stars it'll paper over other concerns. Orgfiller, max silver and Terminator 3
Masterbather Verified Member Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 Good series win, especially after the first game.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 Holy s*** 19 strikeouts. The Braves are a complete mess.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 That's a really nice pair of games against 2 of the better arms in all of baseball. Well done. Orgfiller, Mikeleelop, G-Snarls and 4 others 7

Clement Gimenez Kirk Varsho I don't think you can have 4......

I'm not so sure that's going to happen, but I don't think a league average bat should be lumped in with a "glove first" guy. There's probably some subjectivity to that. If we continue to start all 4, I am pretty confident that 2 of them are league average or better, while 2 may be 90 wRC+ "glove first" starters.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 Didn’t get to watch. Why did Bassit only go 5? Obviously his strikeouts have crept up so far this year which is lovely but he’s kinda guy that’s suppose to go 6 or 7 every start. Seems dominant and was only at 90 pitches.

Apparently he had some minor neck strain and the Jays planned to pull him after 90 pitches before the start. Bassitt said he felt great and wanted to stay in but it was probably the right decision longterm to pull him.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 Jays currently have the most wins in the AL Stangstag and Spanky99 1 1
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 Feeling pretty good about the upcoming Mariners series We will face Castillo and Gilbert on 2 of the days but they need to come up with a plan for the other game They also don't have any off days as they play Cincy today and tomorrow and then the Jays in TO on Friday. So we will have a fresh pen and they won't. Jays24 1
