Clement having a good 2024 was the worst thing that could have happened because he will get a lot of rope this season because of it. I’m not a believer at all. Doesn’t walk, poor stat cast indicators, and will probably play way too much. Hopefully he’s a strict bench guy when Varsho gets back.

DH ABs for Wagner will dry up with Varsho taking an OF spot and Santander moving to DH.

So I think Clement probably goes into what will be close to a strict platoon with Wagner at 3B. Defensive replacement too.

I think fully healthy he's on the bench at least vs RHP. Then you sub him in for defence late in the game since Wagner isn't that good at 3rd.

5 and counting now.

Houck is notoriously difficult on righties and fairly pedestrian against lefties. The odds of Straw getting a hit off Houck is not great. Springer just had to miss a game for back spasms, he's old, it's freezing cold, and we don't have an off day left on this road trip. It's not ideal but it is what it is.

To add, Lukes isn't that bad. He projects better than Straw does anyway and especially against righties, defense included.

Take a chill pill sir. :)

I think I was pretty chilled... there are like 5 other people also talking about Springer too lol.

Disagree about Lukes over Straw but it's fine.

Anyways, let's go Jays!!

Lol the broadcast just raving about Vladdy and how great he is for signing and how much he loves Toronto blah blah.

Dont think he gives a rats ass about the city of Toronto lol. He just got 500M lol.

To be fair Vladdy has always maintained that he loves playing in Toronto going back years.  This is undue criticism on your part.

I'm sure he likes the city. But he would sign this contract if it meant living in Buffalo lol.

Alonzo turned down more money from the Jays to go back to the Mets with his nuts castrated.

Gausman’s fastball has been phenomenal tonight. I actually think he’s counteracting the strategy of hitters sitting on the splitter so he’s blowing them away with fastballs high and low.

Yeah, he's locating all over the zone tonight.

Okay time to string together a walk and three singles so we can get the go ahead run

Masterful AB against Campbell. He’s been featuring the fastball heavily for like 3 straight innings, young rookie, so he throws all offspeeds, gets two whiffs on the splitter, before pumping fastballs right back in the same low spots. Destroyed.

Could the same people who showed concern over Gausman's lack of K's before this game show the same concern for the team's lack of home runs?

I wasn't concerned about Gausman, but I was always going to be concerned about home runs with this team. There's just not a lot of places where it's going to come from. That having been said this is becoming an extreme slump. Still early and very cold out there.

Someone find some wood to knock on, but Bo has been incredibly solid defensively.  His one throwing error wasn't even a routine throw.  He's looked really good defensively so far this yearl
