Laika Community Moderator Posted April 8, 2025 Posted April 8, 2025 The big question today - does Davis Schneider get a start?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2025 Posted April 8, 2025 Maybe the miserable weather levels the playing field a bit and Crochet won't have his usual stuff. One can hope...

At this point I kind of just hope it's Straw and one of Wagner/Roden is in the lineup. Schneider has been brutal to watch, consistently overmatched by the fastball. The pitchers know it, he knows it, still can't do anything about it. Laika, Spanky99, Gen.Disarray and 1 other 4

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2025 Posted April 8, 2025 I asked ChatGPT to show me what the average Red Sox fan looks like and this is what it created Omar, Jays24, BatFlip and 2 others 2 3

Last few years it seems we were lacking LH bats but now it seems we're full of them and lack RH. Hope Atkins is actively looking for a solid proven RH bat off the bench that can play corner OF. because Scheinder is not cutting it and we're too heavy on lefties off the bench and in AAA. Feel scheinder is only playing by default because he's our only RH utility bat.

I wouldn't play Wagner, he's looked pretty overmatched against LHP. Also after his baserunning blunder he can sit for a night. Orgfiller 1

I mean, Wagner has all of 3 PAs against LHP this season, unless you're drawing back from 2024 in which he did indeed struggle over a SSS (22 PAs). I mostly just want to see if there's anything in there for these guys to be more than platoon bats, not that there's anything wrong with playing the strong side of the platoon. Maybe Crochet isn't exactly the guy you test this theory on, however. Spanky99 1
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2025 Posted April 8, 2025 Huge game tonight Yanks are getting thrashed in Detroit again so whoever wins tonight will be in 1st place Spanky99 1

When you are 0-1 or 1-2 it felt must-win to me. But 6-5 it doesn't really feel that way. But it's still very very important.

I just remember seeing a few PA and it looked like he really struggled to see the ball, and you add in the numbers in his career vs LHP plus the scouting reports saying he's a platoon and that's why I wouldn't play him today.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2025 Posted April 8, 2025 I said the same thing the last time Lucas started, but it would be the most baseball thing ever if the Jays win tonight looking at the pitching matchup and lineup. Crochet probably licking his chops looking at 5 through 9. Omar 1

At least I believe enough in Clement to do something silly that works with his contact ability, but I don't think any of us would be surprised if the rest of the guys can't make contact against Crochet. First day off for Gimenez.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 8, 2025 Posted April 8, 2025 probably need another Lucky Lucas game + the $500m man to actually do some stuff with the bat Terminator 1

BB17 Verified Member Posted April 8, 2025 Posted April 8, 2025 Well I guess if you have Lucas going and are severe underdogs anyways may as well punt the lineup.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2025 Posted April 8, 2025 Must not lose game We're in tough tonite folks. Pretty excited for Lucas making a start in Fenway. Despite my hatred for the Bosox this is kind of a big deal. Oh, and starting Straw in CF tonight is a good move at wonky Fenway.
