Should RA be eligible to get any Executive of the Year Award votes?

2025 Additions:

Santander/Gimenez- Atrocious. Hoffman- Terrible. Max- Bad (including injury)

Deadline- Varland/Dominguez- underwhelming together and plain bad for Varland

Bieber could be his saving grace of sorts but man, did he not help things.

did not see that.  Oh well, JS has to have a few more tough convos.

Yeah, I know it's tough to stay positive as we limp toward the playoffs, but with Bo coming back hopefully and Yesavage entering the rotation, I'm still feeling good about this team. Who knows, maybe Santander's bat adds a much needed punch as well. You never know! Let's just hang on and find a way! That starts with tomorrows game to stop the bleeding.

Really like your optimism, almost gives me some! Good to have you here! Go jays!!

Yeah this was kind of predictable, the first shoe to drop.

Likely means he doesn't pitch in the postseason either. Lauer has a leg up.

The third spot in the rotation is Yesavage's to lose at this point.

Yeah I don’t think I want to see Scherzer start again, certainly not in a game that matters. Berrios makes sense in the bullpen now because they need someone to throw innings in case Bieber/Yesavage can’t give them length, and Berrios is the only one with enough rest to be able to do it, but if it’s between him and Max in the rotation, then I’m not sure which one I’d go with. Pick your poison.

Toronto is going to limp to the finish and still win the AL with like 93 wins, right?

Worst American League... ever!?

NL too. Kinda funny there is no super team this year.

The old f***s in the rotation are collapsing and Trey may falter under the pressure of the task of saving them. We're not that far off from turning to the pitcher that is not afraid to strike fear into batters(by throwing at their heads).

Manoah is sitting at 90 MPH in his AAA starts. I think it's far more likely that the team would call up Macko before giving Manoah a sniff of the majors this season.

The 2015 AL was kinda ass. Only 2 teams in the entire league with 90+ wins, and only 2 teams in the AL East above .500. Just gotta get in and hope to get hot at the right time, I guess.

Chris Bassitt heading to IL with lower back tightness retroactive to yesterday, with lefty Mason Fluharty recalled.

And JS says Berrios will still pitch out of the bullpen

They'll only start Gausman, Bieber, Yesavage and Scherzer the rest of the way

Huge mistake IMO, Scherzer should be the odd man out here not Berrios.

They can't, they're going to need somebody else eventually.

If they clinch they have options from the minors, they may just call up Manoah, otherwise it's a bullpen game in one of the most important games of the season.

I could see a Lauer/Berrios piggyback

In fact I feel like they'll have Lauer or Berrios on standby every time Scherzer and Yesavage start just in case.

Suddenly the Yankees could flip it

If the Jays go 3-4 and the Yankees could realistically go 6-1 against the Orioles and White Sox.

At least they line up to face Bradish twice, Rogers once, and Shane Smith. Four actual starters. Not seven Dean Kremers or Sean Burkes.

Jays matchups look like... Wacha, Giolito, Bello, Crochet, Houser, Pepiot, Seymour.

Last six at home is a big deal.

Well I will say this, from a purely neutral perspective, the races are real good in the AL right now.

Every division is in doubt, the wild card is in doubt, just when we thought we knew all the answers, baseball changed all the questions.

Yankees going 6-1 and Jays going 3-4 is unfortunately a very realistic outcome based on schedules and the Jays injuries. Getting Tony back might help. I still think the Jays get the division, but it's gotten to the point where it's not a certainty and could easily flip. The beauty, and misery, of a baseball season.

6-1 is a tall ask. But hopefully Jays can just go 4-3 down this last stretch and make things comfortable.

When we won 6 in a row, most thought we couldn't lose and the pennant was a lock.  I was one of the guys saying, it ain't over till it's over.

Now we lose 4 in a row, many are convinced we will never score more than 1 run in a game, the offense is broken, and we've already choked the division.

You said it perfectly my man.  The beauty and misery of a baseball season, all encapsulated within a week and a half.   If it was always easy, the game wouldn't be as glorious.

Let's go Jays!

Here’s a little anecdote for everyone, only because i vaguely remember so i looked it up.

On Sept.27 2023, the Texas Rangers had 91% chance to win the division via fangraphs projections. With 4 games remaining, they went 1-3 and lost the division, barely sneaking in as the last wildcard. They went on to win the WS that year.

Baseball is crazy, so buckle up because this next week will be stressful as hell. But in the end, anything can happen.
