It sounds like Anthony Rendon will be riding the pine for the next two years. I wonder why they just don't cut him. It's embarrassing. What a bad contract.

Also, do you think the Jays should trade for him? He plays 3B :)

Rendon + Christian Moore + George Klassen for Miles

MLB.com’s Mark Bowman reports Spencer Strider (elbow) could be ready to make his season debut in late April.
It’s not an official return timetable, but there should be some clarity from the Braves in the coming days. Bowman adds that Strider has been throwing bullpen sessions and might be allowed to make at least one Grapefruit League appearance during spring training, which puts him on track to return to Atlanta’s starting rotation by late April, barring any setbacks.

Yankees signed LHP Tyler Matzek to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Matzek fortifies New York’s left-handed relief mix after being limited to just 11 appearances last year due to elbow inflammation. The 34-year-old southpaw was a high-leverage fixture for the Braves during their 2021 World Series title run, but injuries have derailed his career over the past three seasons. He’ll compete for a spot in the Yankees’ season-opening bullpen during spring training and figures to make an impact, if he stays moderately healthy.

Wish the Jays would have been able to bring Matzek in on a minor league contract / spring training invite...oh well.

Kenley Jansen is signing with the Angels, according to the New York Post’s Jon Heyman.

$10M isn't bad for Kenley Jansen. He's not the same elite arm he was before, but should be able to produce around 1+ WAR and is solid trade bait at the deadline if he has a strong first half.

Man that’s a pretty low contract especially when he’s making nothing in that first year. Great deal for the Padres

Agreed. I don't even bother to check this thread as much now.

This thread on the old board was one of the most active threads and now it's pretty much dead.

Nah it shows up but I think it also copies the formatting, so when you're in dark mode it's black font on a black background so you can hardly read it. This is what it looks like to other people reading your post on dark mode:

I absolutely loathe Stroman. It’s beautiful to watch his hometown team toss him to the wolves

He also didn’t report when pitchers and catchers are supposed to, so I read
