G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Not far away from what could reasonably be called the most highly anticipated World Series in recent history. Can't say I'm not excited to see it
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Treinen's money, that slider's filthy. He’s been lights out
Masterbather Verified Member Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Well that's it for me. Absolute worst case scenario. See y'all in the offseason. Should be an interesting one for us.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 The Dodgers don't have any weak relievers. Thank you Mark Prior
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 I’m actually looking forward to Yankees/Dodgers. Should be a fun series. Their regular season series at Yankee Stadium felt like a playoff atmosphere. Same two teams for the World Series should have a crazy atmosphere.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 I'm pumped. Officially hoping for a Dodgers win but hope it's an exciting series either way. Normally I hate the Yankees and want bad things to happen for them but somehow It's OK to me that they're in this. Maybe cause my team just never stood a chance all year so it matters less? Whatever. Who cares. It's a great matchup loaded with superstars and stories. Excited to see what happens.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Well, one step closer to the mlb corporate orgasm World Series. Well, that's it then. East coast, west coast. Much more compelling than last years match up even if you don't care for either team. Some great players to watch this time around. Who ya got? Yankees in 6, methinks.

MVP vs MVP...(probably) Soto,Judge,Stanton vs Betts,Freeman,Ohtani...assuming Freeman is healthy

I think the Dodgers’ lack of starters will ultimately be their downfall. Freeman not being healthy also hurts them quite a bit.

Dodgers in 7, bottom of the 9th 5-1 victory off a Grandslam from Ohtani... Diaz is the victim. Hah!
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 A Dodger Yankee WS... who saw that coming??? I must say the baseball this post-season has been sublime. 100%. My wife asked who I wanted to win last night. I said the Mets - simply because I wanted to see a Game 7 and more of this baseball. I hate to see it end!
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Don't let the door smack ya on the way out. Separates the true baseball fans from the Jays fans.

I think I read that last night was the first game that actually had a lead change. ALCS was pretty electric though I wish it would’ve gone on longer. The early rounds were pretty f***ing good. Hoping for at least a 6 game series for the finals here. Need to cap off an epic postseason with some all-time hits.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Would love a Boone meltdown in Game 4 as the Yankees get swept tbh
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 Is Ohtani available to pitch at all out of the BP?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 This week sucks. Waiting for Friday…
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 Is Ohtani available to pitch at all out of the BP? There were some rumors of a possible return to the mound before the playoffs started - but I haven't heard anything recently. It seems unlikely. If he was close to returning, I think they'd be talking about it a lot more.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 Is Ohtani available to pitch at all out of the BP? he has been throwing on the side - no idea how hard; Roberts was asked that question recently and said no (expectedly)
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2024 Author Posted October 22, 2024 he has been throwing on the side - no idea how hard; Roberts was asked that question recently and said no (expectedly) Yeah. they kiboshed that rumour soon after, he'll be back next year.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 he has been throwing on the side - no idea how hard; Roberts was asked that question recently and said no (expectedly) It's not like their bullpen is a problem and they're willing to risk him getting hurt

Would be pretty sweet in Game 7 or any other game, if Aaron Judge was at-bat with the bases loaded and 2-outs in the 9th, the Dodgers bring in Ohtani out of the pen. Would be one of the biggest AB's in the history of all baseball haha.
