Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Jays Lineup: Yankees Lineup: Judge, Soto and a bunch of other scumbags
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Last few hours not being over 0.500 this season.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2024 Author Posted April 15, 2024 Bassitt vs. Gil Kikuchi vs. Rodon Gausman vs. Stroman Pretty good pitching matchups this series. If Gausman gets right in time for his next start I give us the edge here but not knowing where he's at I think it's pretty even. With us being at home I like us taking 2/3 to win the series.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2024 Author Posted April 15, 2024 This is actually turning into a rivalry. Yankees fan HATE the Blue Jays for some reason and it's kind of weird seeing as we haven't ever really been a threat to them over the years. I can't really put my finger on it. From what my Yankee fan friends have said: -They are so salty over a couple of benign comments that Vlad Jr. has made over the years. "What is his problem with us?" It's as if they feel that all MLB players in every team in the league are just Yankees in waiting, should the Yankees choose them. -They hate Alek Manoah. I get that he's annoying as heck, even when he was good the s*** talking was a lot. But he s*** talks everyone not just the Yankees. -The incident where Judge was caught stealing signs. It's not our fault he got caught. Anyway, I really hope we beat the hell out of those crybabies. GO JAYS

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2024 Author Posted April 15, 2024 Jansen is sitting but he needs to be ready to pinch hit. Particularly if Kirk finds himself in a DP situation late in the game. Jansen can avoid DPs by hitting so many fly balls.

Laika Community Moderator Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 what is the logic in not starting Jansen lmao
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Wait, they activated Jansen but we still have to watch Kirk tonight?
Masterbather Verified Member Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Oh God, please just win one. At least we'll be basically halfway done with the Yankees this year.
Masterbather Verified Member Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Wait, they activated Jansen but we still have to watch Kirk tonight? Ninja logic.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2024 Author Posted April 15, 2024 Does Kirk always catch Bassitt?
glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 what is the logic in not starting Jansen lmao My guess is Kirk is Bassitt's "personal catcher". Kirk caught 28 of his games last year. Of course, Kirk has also started 14 of the team's 16 games already, and he's been absolute ass at the plate, so starting Jansen with Bassitt this one time probably wouldn't have done any harm, but the Jays benching one of the few players on the team who pulls the ball and hits it in the air is something we should be getting used to by now.

Didn't Buck say that the Jays were intentionally trying not to do that this year? I too dislike the idea of personal catchers unless it's an unusual situation like a knuckleballer.

Varsho has hit home runs in his last two games he started and has a 4 game hitting streak so I think he's earned a start or two.
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 What was Kirk yesterday? 3 for 3 with a walk? People bitch when they pull a hot bat out of the line up and then also bitch when they keep one in lol

keggy Verified Member Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Kirk is the most obese player on this team and that's saying something. Dude needs multiple days off real soon
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Kirk is the most obese player on this team and that's saying something. Dude needs multiple days off real soon To my eye, Kirk looks a little heavier than during spring training. Is it possible he actually gained weight since the season started?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Does Kirk always catch Bassitt? Pretty much. Jano also played(caught) his first 9 inning game yesterday, people need to pump the brakes a bit, we'll see Jano tonight at some point I'm sure.

Is it possible he actually gained weight since the season started? Maintaining fitness must be incredibly hard during a 162 game season, that's why offseason prep is so important. Kirk's fate was sealed the day he showed up to ST obese

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Love playing the Yankees. Game 17 and it feels like a playoff game. Every pitch matters.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 The Hound, clean inning, noice.
