Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 Schneider tomorrow: Falefa 3B Clement 2B Biggio bench
deanmike Verified Member Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 All the IKF jokes on here saying JS can't wait to put IKF back in there tomorrow are easy layups. IKF is obviously going to play tomorrow, but not at the expense of Schneider or Clement. With lefty Tyler Alexander on the mound both Schneider and Clement will start tomorrow. RF Springer 1B Vlad SS Bichette DH Turner C Kirk LF Schneider 2B Clement 3B IKF CF Varsho Only way IKF doesn't play against LH starters is when Jansen is back, DH the C who isn't catching that day and make it a Turner 3B day. No way that would happen with Serven being the 2nd catcher right now.
Windowclosing Verified Member Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 Looks like it’s going to be that type of year again fellas. Hopefully Kevin can save the season.

That lineup with a Duvall/teoscar/gurriel or even a Pham in LF with Schneider at 2B and Ernie at 3rd looks so much better.

We are going to pitching and defense our way to a WC spot
Masterbather Verified Member Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 . I assume you’re just pointing out #5 and not suggesting anything about it. Things are pretty progressive here and you could find yourself on the other side of a ban otherwise Surely she got lost on her way to the kitchen.

Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 Starting the season against the Rays sucks. Wait until we go to Houston and New York.

Sometimes I feel like the front office thinks they’re super-duper smart for avoiding the obvious choices or something.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 Because this is the Toronto Indians. We are going to pitching and defense our way to a WC spot Ironic because Toronto is now full of Indians lol.

IKF’s signing gets a lot of the grief (justifiably) but re-signing KK coming off a good season (one he probably won’t repeat) when you already have Varsho still boggles my mind, especially since you saw how that configuration didn’t make sense offensively in 2023. Teoscar in LF and going internal everywhere else (Barger/Clement at 3B, Horowitz/platoon buddy at DH, Biggio/Schneider at 2B) would have been cheaper and no worse than what we see now (with potential be a lot better).
DonJays Verified Member Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 team will regret keeping the hitting coach. The approach is same as last few years. It’s these comments that quickly identify people that don’t know jack about baseball. Or sports in general

It really seems like Atkins panicked after the Ohtani news and was like “well we have to make a move now”. Kk even said he didn’t have much interest from other teams so Atkins got fleeced. But yeah that Kk move is awful. And I think what makes the IKF signing worse is that you needed a big bat given you already had KK taking up a starting spot, yet they doubled down on a well below average bat. Today it felt like the Jays had a lineup with 4 number 9 hitters which brought me back to those 2018-2019 teams late in the season.

Also embarrassing move to have both Turner and Kirk on the bench on the same day.

Laika Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 Daniel Vogelbach as the cleanup hitter. Serven, Biggio, Kiermaier rounding it out. Your leadoff hitter is 35. Your #5 hitter is a pop up artist who was a below average hitter last year. Hard to win when you field a Pittsburgh Pirates quality offense.

MikeM3 Verified Member Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 I missed the game. I checked the lineup after the game was over. I could not believe my eyes. Like I know we roster these players but to see them all together is just shocking.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 Feels like the Turner signing is going to be atrocious Bat looks slow. Didn't even start the third game of the year. Made an error in his first innings in the field. lmao
