hanton Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 I guess Crug Buggio will ride his one home run two like 8 weeks of being a starter eh Davis Schneider will rot yep dumb, should have started babe today
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 Glad Clement is in there. Still no Mustachio.. Observation: Having Vogelbach in front of Varsho will have the same affect as last year with Kirk. There will be 1st to 3rd opportunities, not tagging on 2b to 3rd because the 3b runner is too slow to go home on a sac fly etc, or double steal that are eliminated from Varsho's tool box when you have a molasses clogger on the bases in front of him. Point being, Varsho is a base running tool, the tool is mitigated or blunted by big V hitting directly in front. Hopefully, big V can get a s*** load of RBIs to make it worth while. Also, you have two lefties back to back then a 3rd after Clement, which makes easy BP management for the opposing manager
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 A win today would most welcome
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 Any lineup that doesn't have IKF in it looks soooo much better
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 Any lineup that doesn't have IKF in it looks soooo much better He'll be back at 3b tomorrow no matter what ernie does today
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 I guess Crug Buggio will ride his one home run two like 8 weeks of being a starter eh Davis Schneider will rot The front office doesn’t like Schneider for whatever reason. They likely think he’s a mirage

glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 I guess Crug Buggio will ride his one home run two like 8 weeks of being a starter eh Davis Schneider will rot DS had a historic 25 games (to the point where he probably was the reason the Jays snuck into the playoffs) but then after 8 bad games he never saw the field in a meaningful game again. Given the type of hitting profile this FO loves (contact, low K’s), I’m not sure he’s someone the team is particularly high on, but I could be wrong. Clement’s profile is like exactly what this FO loves, so he’s probably more likely to steal plate appearances. Although it’s possible they don’t think DS is a 2B, which means he’s going to have to wait for an injury to get playing time aside from LF against LHP. If he can’t play 2B then his lack of burn here is at least more understandable.
The_DH Verified Member Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 Hope to see Clement mash today as the first start towards his MVP drive!!
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 Not respect to Davis Schneider. Ernie Clement ahead of him right now. I hope Ernie hit the baseball and stoles PA from Kiner-Falefa
deanmike Verified Member Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 I think the main reason Schneider will not get into the lineup much at 2B to start because the team isn't convinced that his bat plays better than Biggio vs RHP. Plus Biggio seems to be behind both IKF and Clement on the 3B depth chart, meaning the team probably doesn't have much of an appetite to start Biggio at 3B more just to get Schneider more starts at 2B. Against LHP Schneider will start every game at LF.
Masterbather Verified Member Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 Why is our worst hitter constantly hitting in the middle of the order? Varsho should be no higher than 7th in most lineups. I understand our offense is mostly trash but come on
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 2B: 1-Biggio 2-Schneider 3-Clement 3B: 1-Falefa 2-Clement 3-Biggio 4-Turner (emergency) Schneider 2B and LF, only

Varsho should be no higher than 7th in most lineups. I understand our offense is mostly trash but come on The lineup 5-9 is pretty crap overall. In an ideal situation Varsho would be hitting 8th/9th. Kirk is really the only hitter better than him and you need to spread out the LHB so Varsho makes sense at 5th but yeah the lineup looks super weak halfway down. KK and IKF are really terrible fits for this roster as both guys are number 9 hitters at best.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 Kikuchi will strikeout 200 batters this season. Wouldn't surprise me if he's the Jays second best pitcher this season behind Gausman.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 Let's hope that good Kikuchi shows up today:)

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 Any lineup that doesn't have IKF in it looks soooo much better To be honest that lineup still looks like crap lol. But yes IKF should not be starting.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 Great stop by Clement! He should have held onto the ball, but at least he didn't throw it away.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 Great play by Ernie even getting to that ball. Are we sure he isn't a better defender than IKF? lol
