hanton Old-Timey Member Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 Are bat-only players like Vlad really more risk? I feel like offense has less variance than defensive stats year to year. Same with age-related decline. Wonder if its something Fangraphs or other nerds have looked into he isn't bat only. Kendrys Morales is a bat only player
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 I saw David Bell hit a game-winning single off of K-Rod in Game 4 of the 2002 World Series in San Francisco. Geezus I am getting old.

max silver Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Biggest moment in their history and they s*** the bed I had zero issues logging in personally. The quality was up and down throughout and it buffered occasionally but no issues with the stream otherwise. I can't say you missed much though as the main fight was a dud.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 My IPTV was perfect Ya luckily I have both, Netflix broke for a lot of folks.

Iron Mike looked more like Turtle Mike. Old and slow. Looked good for the first 2 rounds and that was it. Boring fight.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 My son video called us and shared his screen, was the only way could watch. Netflix failed on multiple TVs and my laptop And yeah fight wasn't even worth watching. 16 mins of boxing with not one moment of excitement or drama Bah

They were both incredible. Non-stop action for all 12 rounds. Those people beat the living s*** out of each other.

Serrano is a tough cookie for eating those repeated headbutts and continuing with that nasty cut, she was robbed.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 And we get yet another stupid fight (albeit less stupid than that boxing circus) tonight with Jon Jones vs a 50 yr old Stipe that hasn’t fought in like 4 years. Pretty sure everyone wants Stipe to win but knows it will be Jones.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Team Jones baby... I called him to be the next superstar after his first fight on the prelims!! Privilege to watch the GOAT.

I don't get what people expected from a 58 year old Tyson, I was hoping he'd knock that f***head out though.

Yea but still, Stipe hasn’t had a fight in 4 years and that fight ended with him getting sent to the shadow realm. Easy W for Jones in all likelihood
BatFlip Verified Member Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 Yea but still, Stipe hasn’t had a fight in 4 years and that fight ended with him getting sent to the shadow realm. Easy W for Jones in all likelihood Yup. The difference between 37 and 42 is a big deal in MMA, especially if they've taken some big KOs. It's been over a decade since a fighter over 37 won a title (Anderson Silva at 38). The only other fighter in history to win a title over the age of 37 was Randy Couture and that was in a completely different era. Being over 40 in MMA and still being successful is even harder than staying in the game in MLB at that age (you're adding in a s***-ton of lifelong injuries and accumulation of damage)

Easy W for Jones in all likelihood Let's not act like Jones has fought much either. It was 2 rusty guys at the end of their careers but one is the true GOAT who just can't be beat by anyone.

Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Give him 750M IDGAF Do it, and say they will save money to pay Soto by cutting their DEI department. I can't wait for all the non-baseball fans (online feminists, pathetic male feminists and/or the alphabet crowd who don't watch sports, commies, poor people and other various demographics I don't like) to have a big hissy fit about Rogers spending this much on a baseball player if it happens while at the same time ripping off the plebs. That alone will be worth the contract even before he has his first plate appearance. Capitalism FTW!

Thank you for your assistance Blue Jays...here, have a Yusei."?

NOT POLITICAL - Baseball related as commentary on societal trends that will lead to sad days for Blue Jays.... (also I did not start this conversation... just do believe that the opposite of what DP thinks could happen). What will happen is Soto signs the big deal with someone else... Vlad Jr. has to be traded and the feminists, white men for Hillary, communists and Justin Trudeau lovers will get Spencer Horwitz Jersey's. Baseball is not important to many considering what is happening in the world. The number one goal of Canadian Society right now is to re-elect Justin Trudeau to show everyone that we Canadians believe in Science, believe in order, believe in the establishment, believe in love, NOT POLITICAL - Baseball related commentary as these societal trends, the effort to re-elect Justin Trudeau and save Western society will be the focus of this country... we will cheer our second tier, 72 win, 1.4 million in attendance baseball team if we have time, but there is a larger fight! (Not my opinon that this is right, I think Jays should go super capitalist and run a 500 million dollar payroll made possible by tax breaks from Pierre Polievre, and give him free political adds behind homeplate) but do not shoot me, just pointing out what will probably happen instead and why).
