Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2919611/unsolved-mystery-how-did-rogers-centre-become-a-pitchers-park Oddly enough, on my ride into work this morning, I was wondering how the stadium is performing this year and BAM - The Score does an article on it. Seems odd the Jays and the architects/engineers who did the reno wouldn't have a very solid grasp on how the changes would impact the park factor and such. Unless this is what they wanted (barf). Seems like it's way off what they expected. Such a mess if it ends up being a pitchers park long-term. Nobody wants this s***
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 The whole pitchers park thing is nonsense. Our hitters suck and our starting pitchers + defense have been awesome so of course there will be less offense the past 1.5 seasons. Not rocket science. Yeah except you can compare how other teams play when they’re here vs at home lol
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 Park factors are so tricky Nobody thought it would be anything other than hitters park or neutral but it must be the air resistance or something. Maybe filling in the stands and removing the air gaps between the wall and the seats has created more resistance or headwind? Very bizarre You see this in other parks but they tend to be outside when big buildings are added or removed and it changes how actual wind blows through the stadium

You'd think they'd have had that all figured out before the built it...

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 Splatkins will figure it out I trust Ask and you shall receive. Ryan Watson of the Florence Ya'lls is on his way.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 You think he'll be org depth or straight to the big leagues? Would be pretty unheard of for an independent league signing to make the jump straight to the majors. He's almost certainly assigned to one of our levels, as everyone shifts a level up to make up for the MLB pitcher spot (Manoah) being replaced by a minor leaguer who's called up.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 Introducing...Blue Jays Night Mode? https://www.mlb.com/bluejays/fans/city-connect I like them!
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 I like them! The leak WAS true. Only thing different is the Nike swoosh not being yellow
Jays333 Verified Member Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 So what we have shown we can beat the worst team in the league 5/6 times and now theres nothing but rumors everywhere that we are looking to add. Please this has to be ******** media drama, unless we can nab 17 or 18 wins in June and continue that pace the rest of the way the season is a loss. Maybe Atkins is grasping at straws knowing he is on his last legs??
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 The leak WAS true. Only thing different is the Nike swoosh not being yellow Yep the leak was accurate but the low res photos of the leak look a lot different than what we are seeing now.

RobinThicc Verified Member Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 Looks better on the players for sure
Pinkfloid Verified Member Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 The leak WAS true. Only thing different is the Nike swoosh not being yellow I'm not sure how it works, but maybe there were a few slightly different treatments done up? The leak could have been an ultimately rejected version.

The leak could have been an ultimately rejected version. The originals were knockoffs from Mexico man. To be honest, I like them. I like the hat. I think they are better than most the City Connects (which isn't saying a lot). Maybe Top 3-5 I've seen?

Oh come on lol these aren’t even close to being top 10 for city connects Are you guys all THAT malleable to marketing materials?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 We were all saying how ugly they were before the official reveal
AMS528 Verified Member Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 We were all saying how ugly they were before the official reveal In fairness those ones were knockoffs I think that definitely looked worse than the official ones. The official ones are still whatever but they're not the worst in the league or anything.

They’re so f***ing boring… half the city connects are som variation of Navy or Black
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 We were all saying how ugly they were before the official reveal Yes the Mexican knock offs that had a yellow swoosh and orange lettering were ugly
