This might be a position pitcher night.

Honestly we should. We can't f*** up our BP the rest of the series. It's 4 games.

literally anyone is better than manoah at this point, he has looked decent in maybe one start this entire year. needs some serious work done to get back to where he was last year, I'd DL him and give him a long rehab stint.

Nah don't move Pearson when he is finally having some success. Gotta hope Bowden Francis can give you some innings. Manoah has to go down.

Just do Jackson > Richards for 2-3 IP each, send manoah down, call up some reliever (looks like Pop is back soon?)

Can save some face by saying he’s injured, but yeah same dif

I guess were still punting games into the sun by starting Manoah, wtf is going on? Is our SP depth just that f***ing bad that they just trot out Manoah every 5 days because we have nobody better?!!? Also why pull him when the game is already lost and waste the whole bullpen. What a s*** start to this series that everyone seen coming from a mile away after such a good week and a half period.

in twitter:

Bowden Francis has been called up and will be active tomorrow

RHP Alek Manoah optioned to Triple-A

Twitter loves making stuff up. Francis can’t simply be called up, someone has to get DFA first

As if it would happen mid game, but something needs to happen. However fans have been saying it after the last 2 or 3 starts. So who knows what the management will do. I think they are as aware as we are that the SP depth is a wasteland and nobody can really come in and do better.

I just don’t how they continue to trot out Manoah. It’s just humiliating for him at this point. It hasn’t been getting better. There is no silver lining. He simply just hasn’t been competitive.

I don’t care if they don’t have a built in replacement. You have to try something different. If you’re a team with aspirations on the post season you can’t allow him to continue to figure it out here. He has options. He can be optioned. AAA is the place for him to make adjustments.

I don’t even think AAA can help. He needs to go to the complex and let them figure out his mechanical issues. I think “arm fatigue” IL stint is a few hours away

Wish I had any confidence in Manoah but sadly I fully expect to be heading in to the bottom of the 1st already down by 2-3 runs

Alek: Please change my mind today

You were way off

I've said it before, we got Ricky Romero 2.0.

I’d say the majority of us thought he was over rated and over hyped but a solid 2-4 SP. And expected regression. He was a hero of the casuals(witness the Hazel Mae docuseries until your ears bleed) and apparently Schneids who gave him the season and home openers over Gausman (dumb). This meltdown has been way beyond my comprehension. Nobody knows the bottom. I do think his shape is a factor. Although he doesn’t look much different than last year. I can do without the Twitter wars and the stare downs if he does make it back. I’m rooting for him. We all are. He has to go down.

Also why do we refuse to use position players to pitch instead of wasting decent arms??

Good teams like the Rays do it… actually seems like EVERY team does it except the Jays

It’s embarrassing for the him and the front office, he should’ve been gone 2-3 starts ago

It’s a brainless and lazy commentary to use something from 4 seasons ago mattering to the current roster.

It’s just as brainless and lazy to blame all of Manoah’s problems on his weight.

But that’s what fans do best, brainless and lazy bitching like they could do better

Id say his weight and the pitch clock combine to be 90% of the problem, if not more. And they both compound the issues

Pretty sure Frasso is injured again. He’ll never be a starter.

I don't think he's injured. I think there was a long rain delay during his last start. Or at least that's what I had read on twitter during his last start.

Yup, lick your wounds and reset... and come back the beast we know.
