What pathetic is equating Freedom Of Speech with a sign at a baseball game

 

The Dome is obviously privately owned and operated, therefore freedom of expression and speech doesn't really apply, they do have the right to throw him out. That having been said, in a micro sense it is pathetic to curb the expression of opinions of your own paying customer if they are unsatisfied with the product especially if they weren't using any form of vulgarity or otherwise offensive language.

oh i agree its pathetic to throw him out for a sign, but the level of ignorance to equate it to a Freedom of Speech issue is just as pathetic.

Traded our best outfielder at the time, Randall Grichuk, for Ramiel Crapia. Grichuk is still contributing while Crapia is gone.

 

Then he traded Teoscar for Swanson. LOL. Now he's a sparkplug in the Dodgers' clubhouse and contributing big time... 6 RBIs tonight.

 

Dumb and dumber (Shatkins) have to go. Maybe Boy Schneider would be okay if he wasn't Shatkins' puppet.

Last week at the SkyDome a guy in the front row of our section had a sign that read, "It's time to go, Ross".

 

Within minutes multiple security were all over him, threatening ejection and banning if he didn't take the sign down. So much for freedom of speech and expression.

 

Pathetic.

I've seen "FIRE JP" signs at the Rogers Centre during the 2000's haha. Don't recall anyone ever getting kicked out. We've seen signs calling for firings of coaches, GM's, Team President's etc. As long as the signs aren't vulgar/offensive, and the person isn't disrupting the game by holding the sign up during innings and obstructing views of other fans around. You should be able to hold up a "Fire Ross Atkins" sign at the Rogers Centre.

You can have a sign as long as it doesn't interfere with someones view of the game. Some people have no consideration for others. The case posted above sounds like the guy was being an ass towards others and security had to get involved.

Moreno's down to an 82 wRC+. I feel bad for the kid after he was seemingly on top of the world after the WC round last year. Catching at the ML level is seemingly so incredibly hard on players.

Plus our catchers are both positive WAR and combined have triple the WAR value of Moreno so it's not like he left a gaping hole in the line up

That's not the case. He was very friendly and was being supported by others around him. He wasn't blocking other people's view of the game. In fact he was careful not to block people's view. It was a simple matter of them not liking the message of his sign. It was security who were being the asses.

Teo had a 105 wRC+ last year but the Jays should have outbid the Dodgers for him because there was never any doubt he'd bounce back in the middle of a stacked Dodgers line up. I mean it was all but guaranteed now that we can see it happening in real time.
