@Jays24- are you trying to show us their responses to prove just show smart and accepted your views are?  That's really sad.  I think it's widely known and accepted that places like Reddit and Facebook are full of ignorant fans who know little to nothing about the game.  If you enjoy that environment, then I'm happy for you, but don't misconstrue that as evidence that you're right and we're wrong.

The fact that he is running a .195 BABIP and near 90% LOB% is pure fluke. He does not have the measured stuff to suggest that he has this magical ability to prevent base-hits. The guy is running a 38% GB rate as well in his sample with the Dodgers, so its not like he is some weak groundball machine.

The fans who today fail to realize that Lauer's BABIP is unsustainable are the same people who believed that Hoffman's .500+ BABIP was a real thing several months ago.

Nah I didnt say I prefer reddit, just that you guys feel your opinions are always right.  Its a big world out there lol.  Ive always preferred a message board type of format that usually leads to better discussion. 

Anyways, just feels exhausting going back and forth with the same people on the same stuff.  You guys enjoy your views that consistent of being boot lickers for anything the franchise does lol.

So what's the pro-Lauer argument then? Running to another website and screenshotting a bunch of baseball cavemen who agree with you isn't actually on argument on Lauer's behalf. It just shows that there are other idiots out there that agree with you.

Do you actually think he possesses a special skill which allows him to produce a low BABIP and high LOB%?

Why hasn't he been able to do that throughout the rest of his career instead of just these 8 starts with the Dodgers?

I believe Lauer has pitched to something approximating a 4.0 xERA as a Dodger. I see little chance of him continuing to suppress runs to the degree he has but the current version of what he has to offer absolutely would have been useful to the Blue Jays. It's too bad he appears to have such a thin skin and was so willing to blast his team and manager in the media as it would have been nice to see him turn around his season with the Blue Jays.

Did you forget that he was one of our best starters most of last season? Anyways, Lauer isnt a be all, end all type of decision. 

I was just a fan of the way he conducted himself last year and thought Schneider should have used him out of the pen more when he was moved there for a broken Max.  He did annoy me this year too but the difference was, I understood why he became disgruntled. 

Anyways, happy hes doing well.

I don't know if you're aware, but it's really you v. everyone else here - notice how nobody comes to your defense?  It's only the GDT mouth breathers (that most have on ignore) that support what you say on regular basis.  Those are the same people that support what you say on Reddit.

The fact you suggest that anyone who disagrees with you is a boot licker is a great example of how ignorant you are.

Lauer was a nice swing man last season but I think he's being overrated quite a bit. Lauer made only 15 starts last season so he wasn't even a starter for the majority of the season in the first place. On a per start basis he was barely more effective than Berrios who was likely pitching with a wonky elbow for much of the season. And don't try to pretend the only reason you are happy to see Lauer enjoying success is that it gives you an excuse to create more whiney posts.

People really forget or do not know the reason this board exists is we were finally fed up enough with the trolls/dumbos on the MLB forum and 1 guy (Juiced i think) had the balls to go out and give us our own place to discuss baseball, away from idiots like TheDogg, Jays24 and others on my ignore list.

Yes we all know the team sucks this year, but some of us choose NOT to be doom and gloom about everything.

It seems CERTAIN people seem to prefer when the team sucks so they can say TOLD YA SO HAHA

My Pet Peeve on the board though, is that most of the doom and gloom, including my own coincides with large sudden drops in the playoff odds.

A bad stretch mid-season, like we saw late June, early July, can drop the playoff odds from 50% to 15% in a couple of weeks and the unhinged fans go nuts and they are right. 

Then you have people saying, teams get in this situation all the time, we did it in 1989, 2015, and 2025... and I'm like dude, that's 3 in the 20 times we've been here, 15%, not all the time.
