Assuming no injuries, we can definitely kick someone to the curb for Chad Green, but can we kick 2 RPs to the curb to also bring up Ryu and go with a 6-man Rotation?

1. Gausman

2. Bassitt

3. Kikuchi

4. Berrios

5. Manoah

6. Ryu

1. Romano

2. Green

3. Swanson

4. Pearson

5. Richards

6. Mayza

7. Garcia

8. Bass/Jackson/Pop/Cimber

Out of that last group, I believe only Pop has options and anyone else would need to be DFA'd to remove.

Any chance Ryu can start this season? Definitely would be nice for depth considering Manoah so far

That's there goal, yes. Green will be here sooner as he doesn't have to build up like a SP.

A lot can happen over the next 8-12 weeks, these things have a way of working themselves out.

If by some miracle the team actually has too many effective major league relieves without options they can always swing some trades to make room.

Lmao Ryu likely can replace Manoah

Hard to believe Manoah is a complete bag of s*** now lol

Wow

I expected some regression, but didn't expect him to be this bad.

Maybe that broadcaster was right about him needing to keep in shape more.

At what point do we consider sending Manoah to AAA to get back on track? I think the discussion needs to be had, as he's killing our bullpen and losing us a lot of games.

Major difference there, they signed Berrios to a huge contract before he turned s*** last year.

Manoah has no such safeguards

He will go to the IL with “neck strain” and end up doing a “rehab” assignment in Buffalo to get it figured out.

I remember a few of us debating and discussing this before the season. It Was the consensus he would regress substantially. Alek was the god of the casual fan. I don’t think anyone expected this. Funny that he and Bo turned down that extra $50k or so the team offered the them at the beginning of last season. Worked out for Bo. No so much for Alek yet. I don’t know his conditioning program but what I see I don’t care for much. I didn’t even when he was effective. I see irony now in Manoah pitching to Kirky as a battery. If ever there were 2 candidates for keto, sprints, cardio and weights. Watching that last night at the game was painful. Not a lot of options. Do we just keep running him out there and pray?

Manoah's numbers this year are worse than Kikuchi's numbers in 2022. I genuinely do not know how many more starts you can afford to waste on him but I'm not seeing an alternative in AAA/AA that isn't injured or struggling.

You're here in the Big Smoke?

You're here in the Big Smoke?

Yes sir. Last night and next 2 games got a Box at RC. Have to do some entertaining. Last night was not entertaining. Watching that with a bunch of casuals, many of whom think they know something about the game, is a test. Had to listen to one telling another that Alek is a “flamethrower with an electric fastball”.

I remember you telling me this now, Manoah needs his 4 seam command and slider back, pronto. As for the clientele...

I'd be all for sending Manoah down if we had someone decent to replace him.

White has been getting his s*** pushed in down in AAA

Zulueta has not performed

Francis is hurt and I think a reliever now anyways

Teidemann also hurt

Don't really want to see Thompson, Lawrence or Hutch. Although it would be better to have them getting beaten up with the Jays than Manoah of it meant Manoah had a better chance at fixing himself down there.

Lol yeah that s*** is the worst. Just pray Bo doesn’t make an error tonight or something like that.

7 walks in a game is an embarrassment

Manoah gives me Romero flashbacks

Really scary similar. Romero had a similar year to Manoah's 2022 in 2011 and then that was all she wrote....

I don't think he went on the injured list the next 2 years. Up all of 2012 and horrible. Did not pitch in 2013 hardly at all, but did pitch 100+ innings in Buffalo.

Jays had such horrible luck at times. 2012 team looked like it could be a fun young team and started off well, then they lost Romero (imposion), Hutchison (TJ), Drabek (TJ), Morrow (injury to hip or something), Lawrie (headcase), Bautista (wrist) within about a 1 month period. Just a bunch of assets crashed to nothing.

Like I remember on a June Day in 2012 seeing Lawrie at age 22 was beating Mike Trout in WAR since he'd been up, Bautista was the best hitter in baseball, Romero, Hutchison, Drabek and Morrow were a great young rotation. Then 4 weeks later none of those players were playing and their careers were off all off track to various degrees.

I can't remember if it was the same series, I don't think it was, but at Yankee stadium Bautista hurt his wrist real bad and was done for the year, and Lawrie crashed into a camera bay hard and was never the same. I think it was 2 different series one in July, one in August, but 2012 showed how quickly a promising young team can become nothing.

Oh.. trade deadline 2012 brought the official end of Travis Snider, and Eric Thames, 2 promising left handed hitters officially 'not going to happen', although that had been a work in progress for Snider for a while.

Travis Snider, David Cooper, Brett Lawrie, Eric Thames, Colby Rasum, J.P. Arencibia, Hutchison, Drabek, Morrow, Romero... so sad. So many young players and they all went from promising to nothing in such a short time.

I think if the Jays had an arm or two knocking on the door who they could call up, Manoah definitely gets sent down to sort things out. Better for Manoah longer term and even the Jays as well.

I understand if they feel like they have no good options to replace him with, then try to let him work on things at the big league level but still will be painful to watch and can't be throwing games in a tough AL East.

This shows you how thin this rotation really is. Imagine if the Jays lost Gausman to the IL or multiple starters. This team would be in trouble.
