Interesting turn of events. DR authorities move to arrest him about 10 days after he leaves the USA. He can't initially be found.

 

Did he have intel on what was coming and left the USA to avoid the arrest and extradition process, and is now on a boat to Cuba?

That seems like the most plausible read. Grabbed whatever cash he could and disappeared.

I really don't think we need to spend on a 5th starter. That would ultimately make Manoah start the season in AAA no matter what then. Might as well trade him at that point.

It is far better than a lot of s*** out there and everything is sourced. Not sure what your hang up is.. It is a large Global site, that happens to have an MLB component.

I would have no issue with Stroman and Pham. Then sign Hoskins and the offseason is complete. Ripped Vladdy can police the clubhouse.

Stroman on a Bassitt type of contract would be solid. He's usually pretty durable and consistent from a performance standpoint. Whether the Jays should be adding another $20m AAV starter is the question.

Answer is no. Manoah should be able to bounce back like Berrios did to get the 5th spot next season.

Still need to address the rotation depth though IMO. Can’t assume all 5 guys will be healthy and effective for the whole season.

I would like to see us do a rare prospect for prospect trade for that. Like trade Horwitz for a AAA depth starter or something. Those kinds of trades are rare though.
