I very much wish he was a Jay, however the Social Media/Justice department would never approve

Not bad

I was watching his progression and it's better almost everytime he's on the bump, save for a blip. Big K numbers. He must have signed an every 4 day SP with the parent club, he's unique to say the least. lol

Not bad

Is he still in the minors over there?

Do the Rockies just exist to humiliate the great state of Colorado?

They might not even be the worst in the state with the Broncos there. I go Avs, Nuggets, Mammoth, then Rockies/Broncos tie for last

Well I guess Matt Mervis isn't good after all

Funny how it happens.

Oh ya he’s fine lol pretty sure there’s 30 teams who could use him

He pitched in the minors for his first 4 starts. It had been quite a long time since his last major league action so 4 starts down in the Japan Eastern League seems reasonable.

He was never sent to the minors. He went down for a start after a rainout. If you get a rainout in Japan, the manager skips your start. He asked to be sent down to keep fresh. Worked too

That's so odd. OK guys, Gausman was rained out yesterday, but we're going to skip him in favor of Josh Towers today...

How do I apply to be a manager over there?

Why Chris Morel doesn't play everyday is disturbing to me?

It's insane

Posted
Dude went 0 fer for a few games and gets benched forever while sporting a near 1.000 OPS, disturbing.

Do you have a crush on him? Every time I check on this thread you’re worshiping him. It’s really strange

Is Bobby Witt Jr. becoming the next Alex Gordon for the Royals? His statcast page is RED, but the production is similar to last year. He's now 900+ PA's into his career with a 96 wRC+ Thoughts?

What are the main differences between Bichette and Witt Jr. in terms of batted ball data? Seem to be vaguely similar playey to Bichette, hit's the ball hard, strikes out more than you would think.

I just looked at their baseball reference batted ball data, and it is similar but Bichette slightly better in every respect, like Witt is 89ish exit V, Bo 91...

Does fangraphs and other batted ball data say the same? Is the difference between Bichette and Witt make sense given batted ball data? Or is Witt under-performing and will be more like Bichette when the luck evens out.

He whiffs more than Bo, so that's probably a bit of the problem. Also doesnt seem to spray the ball like Bo, mostly pulling. Avg EV is 65th percentile, bo's is 85th... though their max EV is about the same. Hard hit rate is lower but still above average.

The numbers certinaly suggests there's more to his bat than current results indicate.

However.... -9 Run value against 4 seam fastballs, Bo's is +9. Looks like he has a problem with the heaters.

Very similar players

Witt is just the 50 hit tool version of Bo Bichette

Feels like bad teams can't even stumble into good players anymore. It's all about being programmed properly by your organization. The sport has become so technical and information based.

I could be wrong but the bad teams just seem to be at such a disadvantage. Of course that's why the league is trying to cap front office spending now.

When organizations can use tracking software to find tells on pitchers and give it to their 40 FV hitter, he's going to outperform the Royals or Rockies 60 FV.

Just feels like a different game right now.
