Crazy about what the Brewers said about Burnes. I even imagine that hurts their image with other players and arms around baseball.

 

Not sure the Jays have enough to trade for Burnes right now. If the Jays still had Moreno, could have been a possibility. Only other guy would be Bo, which isn't happening haha.

Rodriguez could run more this season, Mariners manager Scott Servais told Corey Brock of The Athletic on Friday.

 

Analysis

Just four of Rodriguez's 25 stolen bases in his rookie season came after the All-Star break. Part of that was health-related as he dealt with wrist and back issues and part was pitchers simply paying more attention to him. However, Servais noted Friday regarding Rodriguez that stealing bases is "a big part of his game." Grossman signed for 1 year, $2m with $3m in potential performance bonuses. Would have fit in nicely with the Jays but based on those terms it looks like path to playing time was a factor in his decision.

I know he won his WS in Atlanta but really they were not his best years (which would be Toronto and San Diego. In the end he spent 5 years with Toronto, Atlanta and Tampa, 3 with San Diego. Then another 7 with Tampa post playing career. I'm sure Tampa was a thought for him too. 2nd player to ever play for the Rays in the HOF.

It isn't as if the system is new. Burnes agent did a really s***** job at prepping him for the meeting if he came out this hurt. Not saying the Brewers were right but this is what these meetings are. About 30 players a year go to the hearings and many still end up with good relationships with their team. Max Fried is going every year (how he lost this year is insane to me)
