Spencer Torkelson has a 92 wRC+ in AAA with a 28% K rate and a middling .155 ISO. Either the Tigers broke him or his confidence is completely shot. Even Kelenic has hit in AAA in between awful stints in the MLB.

Not sure where to stick this or if its been posted but Canada beat 11 time Little League World Series winner Japan to go to 2-0 yesterday. It was a stunner.

 

The Canadian Championships were in Calgary last week and this BC team beat a Calgary team my buds kid plays on 3-2 in the semi and then Moose Jaw in the final. I was able to catch a couple of those games.

 

Next game is against Mexico the 22nd 5pm EST. As a former long time LL coach I love this ball. So talented these kids. Its on TSN live if you want to check it out.

 

My buddies team from Ottawa represented Ontario this year in Lethbridge AB. I think they lost in the semi's and beat Quebec to finish 3rd. But I think his kid is 13 or 14. I think that's the age above the team that would actually go to Williamsport to compete as Team Canada...

He's up to a 142 wRC+ on the year and a 0.9 WAR. I know he's platooning, but his wRC+ would be #1 on the Jays right now. That is f***ing insane. This is the best story in baseball this year. Will he return for one more year? You have to think the Cards will be begging him to come back for one more year.

Ya, these kids are supposed to be 11 and 12 max. Possibly historic game for Canada against Mexico 5pm EST today. They beat MEX before once a few years ago, and if they do I think it may be the furthest Canada ever advanced. Canada's 6-0 win against Japan was the only the 1st first round loss for 11 time LLWS winner Japan in 60 years. Only the 2nd time ever they lost their first game.

I don't know the inner workings of the testing program, but it would be insane if MLB has any say in whether a player get outed or not. Doesn't a 3rd party just do the testing, report the result and that's that. The poor guys usually get it from accidentally taking horse steroids for ring worm and s*** like that, nobody is cheating on purpose, but they all still get suspended, doubt there is a mechanism to give Pujols special treatment, Manny Ramirez, near the end of his career was having a story book season for the LA Dodgers and they outed him.
