I can see now why there was no way Freddie Freeman was staying in Atlanta

AA just won't pay open market prices hardly ever. Most of the team is nicely cost controlled.

I don’t really think that’s true, they allegedly offered Freeman the same AAV just 1 year shorter, and may have been willing to match the Dodgers offer. The recent Riley contract was pretty aggressive but probably fair on both ends.

I feel Freddy Freeman is going to age tremendously. It seems the issue with going back to the Braves was less about the ultimate money he was offered but how long it took to get there.

Braves ended doing well for themselves either way.

Yeah guys like him i think it's better to go out before the true decline. Wayne was pretty beat up later in his career and you just knew he didn't have the "elite" left in him. Sure, he could still go through the motions and probably still be average to above average, but... to a guy like him, being average to above average was like being 50% of himself.

I think he also said that he realized guys were taking it easy on him physically out of respect and literally letting him know they were about to hit him by yelling his name before it happened. At that point yeah, I can see why he decided it was done.

In the least shocking news of the day, Marcell Ozuna was arrested early Friday morning in Norcross, Georgia for driving under the influence.

Norcross police arrested Ozuna for DUI and failure to maintain lane before booking him into the Gwinnett County Jail at 4:39 AM ET. Ozuna, of course, was also arrested last year for domestic violence and served an MLB-imposed suspension. We'll undoubtedly hear more about this situation later Friday.

Ozuna seems like a class act

Would be hilarious if Mitch White actually ends up being one of the more productive starters dealt at the deadline.

Montas has been terrible

Mahle’s shoulder may be f***ed.

D-backs have announced Corbin Carroll will debut this season. Expecting big things from this kid. He's not a Kelenic.

I'm sure people said the same about Kelenic. "He's not ".

Shortness of breath caused by fireworks smoke. I hope he's alright.

Hader blows yet another game for the Padres. 0 outs recorded, 1 walk, 2 hits, 3 earned runs. Also had a throwing error.

He’s been an absolute dumpster fire with SD so far

Pocket a few hundred grand in cash!

I presume he'll be dealt for cash. He's not worth a player in return.

Nah, once a player is claimed, he's the teams property. No more post deadline trades and revocable waivers, this is in the new CBA.

Not sure where to stick this or if its been posted but Canada beat 11 time Little League World Series winner Japan to go to 2-0 yesterday. It was a stunner.

The Canadian Championships were in Calgary last week and this BC team beat a Calgary team my buds kid plays on 3-2 in the semi and then Moose Jaw in the final. I was able to catch a couple of those games.

Next game is against Mexico the 22nd 5pm EST. As a former long time LL coach I love this ball. So talented these kids. Its on TSN live if you want to check it out.

I'm thinking of signing up for TSN Direct. It's $200 for the whole year.

I might do the year subscription. Pay the one time and it's like getting two months free. Depends on how much sports I'll watch during the winter and spring next year. At least I'll get a lot of US Open coverage over the next two weeks which is why I'm thinking of getting it. In the winter, at least will have the Leafs, Raptors, some NFL games, CFL games and also the World Cup in November/December.

So it's pretty much like Sportsnet Now. So you get all 5 TSN Channels?

You will also possibly get NFL Red Zone included with your sub, but I'm not sure yet if that'll definitely be included this season or not
