Masterbather Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 I know, was just being facetious as it's great for baseball and NYY Lore, they get so much hype because of their fanbase volume, and history. Do you think it's more of a New York thing? I get the sense of a lot of people are using the American League record thing as code for *real* single season record. It's probably a combination of both the fact that it's a non-steroid record and that it's New York.

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Guys, Tampa is losing 6-0 in the 5th and in a rain delay, who knew they'd be tanking to face the Indians, M's battling to face the Jays??? Seriously, who knew?

Seriously, who knew? The Mariners just had their catcher pitching in extra innings. But they couldn't stop their hitters from winning.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Judge hit 62 to lead off the game. Yankee and AL record, cool. Did you see the video and the fan who leapt off the seating area before the ball landed? Dude just yeeted off the seating area
mellowgold Verified Member Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Assuming the Tampa game is called or Boston doesn't blow a six run lead, we're officially locked in with the M's.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Tampa definitely tanking for the last WC spot. Can't say I blame them. Second WC spot is easily the worst spot to be in. Even when those SOB's lose they do it in the smartest way possible.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 He wasn't even close to the ball from the looks of it lmao. Which is why he jumped down in hopes that it landed short of the stands, or the fans dropped it???
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Hey if the ball ended up bouncing down there and he grabs it, its worth getting kicked out/injured. Couple million bucks likely I feel like he wouldn’t have been able to keep it though
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Yeah that would have been interesting The team would probably take the position that fans lose any right to keep a ball if they leave the designated fan areas to procure it
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Yankees record 99-62. Judges # - 99 Judge's HR total - 62 So if they lose tonight and judge hits 1 more dinger ...
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Yeah that would have been interesting The team would probably take the position that fans lose any right to keep a ball if they leave the designated fan areas to procure it I don’t think he leaves the stadium with the ball. We’d find out in 2028 who actually gets it, through the courts.

Didn't Pujols' last HR end up in the batters eye and guys jumped the railing to go grab it? Would they have been kicked out and force to give up the ball?
