Left handed bats are pretty much all gone in FA. Conforto is there but will be on the more expensive side. Gardner is available but I'd rather wipe my ass with sandpaper than sign that guy. Might need to look at a trade.

To add on Conforto, he's also vocally unvaccinated and anti-vax in general.

I guess one way to look at it is if the Dodgers let him walk at that price he must be cooked.

Dodgers are at the Cohen Tax threshold after the Anderson signing. A 1-year 16M deal for Jansen at this point would cost them something like $30M in real dollars.

Guys, we're getting Story to play 2B and Biggio will become our left handed 4th OFer while also being able to play some backup IF :)

You have always been high (pardon the pun) on Bird way back to when he came up and dominated in a short stint.

Stranger things have happened. Maybe he gets healthy and finds it.

Yeah, that's all I'm saying is a decent LHB off the bench or incase of injury, or better would be great. I thought he was done, until I seen the signing and then GP last year. Yes, I certainly liked him coming up, thought the Yankees had a gem. Until many horrific ankle injuries, of course. Not bad for a minor league deal.

I don't think there is much left that would help in the left-handed hitting regard.

Perhaps Mallex Smith is healthy and can add some value here if he can get back to his 2018 form. He gives you a different skillset

I liked the Greg Bird pick-up as well as, this guy has been continuously hurt but may have something left in the upside tank.

Both guys hurt and got away from their game - both left-handed bats - If either one of them can be useful the money can be put elsewhere.

I'd be grabbing Brian Goodwin on a minor league deal, but we may have to look to the trade market for the right bat.

Looking at non contending teams I see Jake Fraley and Tyler Naquin from the Reds, David Peralta from the Diamondbacks, Ben Gamel from the Pirates, Rafael Ortega from the Cubs, and Raimel Tapia from the Rockies as possible options for us.

Otto Lopez breaking out the French. I keep forgetting that he was raised in Montreal and has Canadian citizenship.

I really hope they end up going with the 2 man catching tandem of Kirk and Jansen, and find a LHB who can DH. Atkins has to build the roster with as few scrubs as possible because Charlie won't be able to help himself, and McGuire is going to be that guy if he's still on the team.

At what point do you think Moreno breaks through... Or are you earmarking him for a big deal?

Just going to say it but part of me secretly hopes the Jays use the final roster spot on Billy Hamilton.

Agreed, that's the type of guy we need on our bench.

It's too bad he could never hit. The fact he can't hit worth a damn makes the fact he bats left less important.

He would certainly be a better backup CF than Grichuk

Pinch runner for sure

I mean hopefully Springer plays 150 games in center but can we count on that? Def not...

But he can't f'n hit a lick which is why he never stuck anywhere and remains a free agent during spring training

We could just bring back Alford if we're looking for a super fast dude who can field but can't hit at all. I suppose the fact that he gets injured every time he looks at a picture of a baseball is a downside, but still!

Hence my laughter, he's s***.

For a outfielder who bats left and still in his prime who no one really has brought up here (probably due to inner division not so much rival) is Cedric Mullins. CM would probably cost

a Chapman ++ haul for the O's but it would get Springer over to right and gets really good LH bat. This would free up Randal G for a trade and maybe even Teoscar or Lourdes to tighten up another position or bring in some more pitching prospects (hello Miami) and a second baseman??

Less than no chance.

Toronto isn't going to pay six arms and forth two legs for a star from a division rival coming off a career year...

Also, Grichuk is very much already freed up for a trade!

Yeah never happen of course

Orioles always keep players much longer than they should too

I was just thinking of Hamilton as a Dyson replacement. Both suck at the plate and should only be used for defense and pinch running. Obviously if we can find a more complete player then we should do so.

I’ve noticed there’s not many CM doubters. That he was a fluke I mean. I’m not saying I am either but just notice most see him as legit star

His hitting has improved every year since he was called up. Hard to know what his ceiling is or if he passed it last year.

His defense I thought always looked good but somehow he had negative defensive value last year. What gives with that? Pretty much all of his WAR came from hitting and baserunning.

Austin Hayes would be a more realistic target I guess. He’d be a great Randall replacement. But with the control he’d probably cost something too.
