Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 Hopefully this private pitching coach isn't just blowing smoke up his own ass and Borucki turns out to be as locked in as he claims. Ass Smoke appears to be the answer here.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 Wouldn't mind Bryan Reynolds. Think he'll cost much less to acquire than Jram and provide good production and is younger/cheaper. Rumours have the Padres trying to pry Reynolds out of Pittsburgh but the price is too high. If the price is too high for Preller to pull the trigger, it must be ludicrous.

I know we have Tapia now, but I wonder if Gamel would be a better get?

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 I like this. Berrios and Gausman are our long term guys so they get 1-2, Ryu gets 3 which means he won’t face the Yankees and slot Manoah 4th to split up the lefties. Means we’ll have all except Ryu going against the Yankees in NY. Should be a fun series I'm surprised we didn't announce a 6 man rotation to begin the season. Although I guess Pearson and Stripling can piggy back off the current starters since I doubt most of them won't be going deep anyways.

With Ryu, he tends to struggle in the early innings then finds a groove and does better. He just occasionally needs more rest between starts compared to a typical starter. Kikuchi is the type of guy 2x through order then short hook. Manoah might be on innings limit. Need the bulk reliever for Kikuchi and Manoah mainly

My guess is we are going to go with a normal sized bench and use the early season extra roster spots on relievers.

I'd be shocked if this weren't the case. Our position player group is very strong and a 5th man on the bench wouldn't serve a useful purpose.

I wouldn’t want to take starts away from Berrios/Gausman/Ryu. Manoah might be on an innings limit but he was solid last year. They started 2021 with a 4 man rotation of scrubs + Ryu. No reason to push a 6 man rotation when the quality is much better than it was last year. Plus extra roster spots for relievers

There's only ONE off day the first 4 weeks of the season So yeah they have to do something Either limiting innings or adding a 6th starter once per week Edited April 2, 2022 by G-Snarls
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 Had no idea Pearson was dealing with a non-COVID illness. He may not go north with the team?
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 Had no idea Pearson was dealing with a non-COVID illness. He may not go north with the team? Seems like he won't make the team which is probably ok. He can get ready in AAA and come up to fill the spot for our first injury.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Can this die already? It will die when the trade happens or if JRam dies.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Seems like he would prefer to stay in Cleveland but would need to take a sweetheart extension to stay. They don’t appear able to meet his market price. Great players want to stay but cheap ass owners are unwilling to pay. The saddest thing about this game.
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Jesus Pearson is such a weenie Real men are immune to viruses right?
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Real men are immune to viruses right? You know that comment was meant for the collection of injuries and not just this lol
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 I only want this to happen if we can agree to an extension as part of the trade. Giving up top prospects for a 2 year rental or maybe even less ain't worth it.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Real men are immune to viruses right? And they don't shake at the urinal either. They slam their cock into the side of the urinal.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Da Fuq? Real men smash their dicks on things. Haven't you heard?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Real men are immune to viruses right? Was it confirmed to be a virus?? I just saw non-covid related illness. Could mean anything. Regardless, I was more just complaining that Pearson’s health in general has been a major issue the last couple years.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 (edited) The Guardians look really bad here, lowballing a guy that's given them massive value, and asking for the moon in trade. f*** them. ETA: I'd be asking for the moon too, but how they're treating him is redonkulous. Jays are fine positionally right now, I'd rather they stand pat now and use their farm in emergency to strengthen the team come the deadline, if needed. Edited April 3, 2022 by Spanky99

Regardless, I was more just complaining that Pearson’s health in general has been a major issue the last couple years. Well, it's some sort of virus, including a virus to his injury past is dumn, bro. Jays right-hander Nate Pearson continued to feel ill Saturday and was sent home for the day: “We’re running out of time,” Montoyo said of a roster decision on Pearson, who has twice tested negative for COVID-19 and hasn’t pitched since March 26 ... Lefty Ryan Borucki was set for an MRI on his right hamstring as a precaution after slipping on the mound against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday ... Closer Jordan Romano felt good after Friday’s bullpen session. He suffered a mild ankle sprain earlier in the week while walking his dog, and is expected to be fine for opening day. RHP Nate Pearson (illness) Expected return: Day to day Pearson was experiencing symptoms on March 31, and while he’s tested negative for COVID-19, he’s still dealing with an illness. At this point, the missed time could impact Pearson’s odds of breaking camp with the Blue Jays if he needs time to get back to 100 percent. Pearson is still being stretched out as a starter but was likely headed for a hybrid role out of the bullpen to open 2022. -- Keegan Matheson (Last updated: April 2) Sounds like they basically want him stretched out, he can get that work done in Dunedin, won't be long.
