Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 I'm glad a team from the AL Central is spending some dough. We can't have the White sox cake walk to a playoff spot being .500 against non-division opponents. Yes, the Tigers ARE getting good, fast. Not AL East good, but they are the second best team in that division now with those two additions.
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 The Mets have offered the GM job to Billy Eppler. The apparently aren’t concerned about winning.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 Mmmm I doubt it You might be underestimating Tork and Greene.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 I don’t get it? So either the guy photoshopped it, or he’s tweeting out a photoshopped photo? That sum it up? Some guy actually sums it up like that in the comments Yeah, wasn't the journalist, you know he legit might have been told that information, man.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 Yeah, wasn't the journalist, you know he legit might have been told that information, man. Well that general rumor has been floating out there a long time, that he was going to the Tigers. There’s nobody else picking it up right now and he’s posting photoshopped s***, so I’m still skeptical he isn’t a click-baiter
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 Blue check mark tweets out photoshopped picture and has inside sources Done deal
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 I doubt the Tigers/Correa rumour, nobody legit is even posting the usual updates you would hear after the obligatory "Tigers are reportedly in on Correa" which came out days ago.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 Hahaha... What’s funny? You got Hazeled!

The tweet was posted this morning? He's really the only source.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 What’s funny? You got Hazeled! No, if it gets debunked, I among many more will have been Hazeled, feel better?
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Arozarena and India win ROY.
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 I'm pretty sure that means Luba is down to 1 MLB client, and that client may or may not play baseball again.

Puig was basically out of baseball anyway, playing out of country. I don't know what he did, but he seems to have been blackballed.

jerb Verified Member Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Jeff Passan @JeffPassan BREAKING: Right-hander Noah Syndergaard and the Los Angeles Angels are in agreement on a one-year, $21 million deal, pending physical, sources tell ESPN. The Angels bolster their staff with the highest-upside arm on the market — and pay a heavy price, plus a second-rounder.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Sherman was just mentioning on MLBN, that he's hearing a *pillow* contract at 20M 1 year? Damn expensive with a comp pic attached, holy.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Dammit jerb, you're too fast.

z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 It basically had to be that much vs the QC he's leaving behind, but that seems like a lot for the Angels when you factor in the draft pick.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Nice deal for LAA If he’s a stud they look like geniuses. If he’s hurt it’s just another let down year in LA and he’s gone
glory Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 I would have been fine if the Jays gave him that deal. I like it for the Angels. He was always going to take a one year deal because his upside is huge and he can cash out big time next season. About time the Angels made a good pitching move, even if it’s only for one year.

Yeah, the money's fine. LAA just got a lot better, and there's no real bad contract to 1 year. It's the 2nd rounder that goes with it, ah well, not my team.
TBJ12 Verified Member Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Seem questionable to me. He hasn't pitched in 2 years and is coming off TJ. I can't imagine he pitches anymore than 150 innings and even that would surprise me. Not to mention the lost draft pick and not being able to issue a QO following the 2022 season. He needs to be cy quality starter for this deal to work out.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 f***ing finally the Angels actually spend on pitching. Hope he has a full healthy season for them. Syndergaard AND Ohtani throwing 100mph bullets is sexy

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Are Trout and Rendon both going to be OK for 2022? No idea on Rendon but the thought that Trout could of come back for the end of the season but Angel's opted to not risk anything with the position they were in makes me think he will be back for training camp
