Same... Jeter was the most overrated player I've ever come across in baseball. Don't get me wrong, he was still a very good player but nowhere near the hype he gets. He was never even the best SS for any season of his career but gets treated like he was the best player in baseball.

 

The Yankee effect was definitely strong in how he gets viewed. The whole "he should have been a unanimous hall of famer" pissed me off. There are so many better players than him who never accomplished that feat because they weren't as lucky to be playing on stacked squad every year.

 

Jeter is very very very overrated defensively yes. Offensively.. no. Arguably the best hitting SS of all time - depending on whether you consider A-Rod a career SS.

I wonder if the Jays even go after Suzuki.

 

Jays outfield is already full up. I know we speculate at times about bringing in a potential upgrade and then trading one of Teo or Gurriel, but would the front office break up the three amigos at this time? It is a business I know, but Vladdy/Teo/Gurriel seem like such a tight group and the foundation of what keeps the team so loose and fun. I don't know if the FO would be eager to break that up at this point unless it was the only way to improve the team.....and certainly is not the only way to improve the team, it's probably not even close to being the best way to improve the team either.

Sources have informed @ElCaribeRD that @RaysBaseball has presented a contract extension offer to Wander Franco. The offer is expected to exceed the 8 years/100 million dollars deal extended to Ronald Acuña Jr. by the Braves in 2019. The one to Franco gets close to 200 million.

The deal proposed to Franco would be for a 10 year plus commitment worth between $150 - 200M. Franco batted .288 with 7 HR and 3.5 WAR, coming third in ROY voting, won by teammate @RandyArozarena 2/4. Franco's camp is studying the offer and are expected to counteroffer.
