f*** I forgot they gave Grichuk 50M. Hes the Blue Jays Norman Powell. The guy they paid well before they had to after a small window of success.

Didn't see this posted anywhere. The Rays gave up on Christian Arroyo, who probably sucks, and traded him to the Indians along with Hunter Wood for a minor leaguer I've never heard of and $250k in international pool money.

I personally would rather hang in to Sanchez at this point, his value around the league isn't worth trading him right now.

Yeah, no reason to move him right now.

On the bright side, if the Jays get nothing for Sanchez, it would be justifiable given his value at the moment.

I wouldn't trade him either. A Boras client will bust his ass to be good in his walk year. Sanchez sucks, but I'll take a chance on his 2020 season given how low his value is now. If he sucks again, then cut bait, but not like we are dripping with 2020 rotation options. Keep him and pray.

His last start helped convince me that Sanchez could be an elite reliever. His fastball with movement and his curveball over a couple of innings 3/4 times a week could be really valuable. If it worked, this time next year he’d be a pretty valuable asset.

I’d be pretty livid if they sold this low on Sanchez. If they want to trade him at least try to rebuild some value next year. If he gets injured again then fine, but i’d rather not just let him go for scraps without giving him one last shot next year.

Elite no. He had the mid-late relief role in 2015.

He had a FIP of 4.61 and LHH chewed him up. I don't think he has gotten any better. Who wants a guy in high leverage that gives up that much hard contact and BBs so many hitters.

Sanchez as a reliever has a 3.15 xFIP, 2.93 FIP, and 1.67 ERA covering 59.1 innings.

I knew someone would point that out. True. Didn't he still struggle against LHH in the pen? I still dont think he has gotten better and I don't think he would be an elite reliever.

It's a very small sample size (23.2 innings vs lefties). He held them to a .181/.277/.265 slash line and 2.66 ERA, but a 4.20 xFIP due to the higher walks and lack of K's. It is worth noting that he held them to an 11.4% hard hit percentage and ~62% ground ball rate.

The Brewers have DFA'd Marcos Diplan to make room for their Jordan Lyles acquisition. He seems to be a carbon copy of Hector Perez to me, maybe worth a claim and hope that he breaks out as a reliever? I would imagine he's someone that will get traded in the upcoming days, but certainly one that you should be able to offer an unknown minor leaguer for to acquire.

This is why people hate Ross Atkins. How hard is it to say Aaron is garnering some interest but we like having him here? or something to that regard.

Lol Atkins is a dumbass. 3 weeks ago they were pitching him 3 days in a row. Now they want to treat him with kid gloves.
