burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Doesn't mean much Velo is down and he's walked more than he's struck out. I'd say thats a little concerning especially when you hear that he doesn't have the same life on his sinker.

All of Spring training is used to work on certain things for certain pitchers....some just go full out as well, I'd assume they have Sanchez held back a little based on the huge increase in innings last season....if the problem remains evident come the regular season then it's time to be concerned

He should be ready to go

He should be ready to go He could be ready to go but not going full out because there is no reason to...more concerning is Donaldson has more errors than hits Edit: 2nd start lol...most pitchers pitch 4 or 5 times minimum

Missed that, so he has 1 more start?...if so, let's see if he is more consistent then. How many times has he pitched this Spring...haven't been able to keep track much with he Florida Gators back in the NCAA Tournament
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Walks are concerning though arent they? Have they been competitive walks?
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Walks are concerning though arent they? Nah those are competitive walks... That aside, I wont be super concerned unless he is still pitching like this mid-may
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Have they been competitive walks? Wow those posts were near simultaneous.

Ray Verified Member Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 I recognize Martin does a lot for the pitching staff and that he brings more value than his batting average implies, but his AB's have been pretty ugly this spring.

Pretty sure he was horrible first 2 months last year. Slow starter?

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 The success has gone to Sanchez's head. He as become arrogant and thinks way too much of himself.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 It just feels like Osuna is going to have a trip up this year. He has been far too good far too young.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Looks like the probable opening day lineup: Almost perfect.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 any word of Pompey is playing at all yet, or is he still dealing with the concussion?
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 any word of Pompey is playing at all yet, or is he still dealing with the concussion? Still not doing baseball stuff. What a weird way to get a conky
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 I know Upton's not popular, but him in left with Pearce at first is a much, much better lineup.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 I guess Morales has been crap at 1st base in workouts because they say he would get a string of playing time there to see what he can do but literally hasn't played the field once unless I'm missing something?

He played first against the Yankees the other day. He made an error, but the ball was well hit enough that I wouldn't have argued too much had they ruled it a hit.

As we get closer though I can see why they feel its more important for Pearce to get the reps
