Well, I don't wish injury on any player but if Carrera is hurt after that collision it improves the LF platoon potentially.

If they want Bau in the middle of the order i don't mind throwing Pearce or Martin there.... Guys that walk a bit. Nobody is stealing 20 bases this year so speed is more of a moot point.

I mean sometimes you just have to be a dick. Anything keeping Zeke out of the lineup is a postive. I just hope Pearce is actually able to play LF before long. We can't have Upton playing against RHP everyday either. I'm ok with him facing s***** ones. But he should never face one with a nasty breaking ball or above average velocity.

Useful bench player who was one of the main reasons we made it to the ALCS last year.

Carrera and Darwin Barney collided in the outfield on a bloop by the Twins’ Quintin Berry on Monday and Carrera had to be helped off the field.

 

The Blue Jays informed us that Carrera has a contusion on his right quadriceps muscle which, while certainly not dire, could absolutely see him out of action for a week or so. With opening day two weeks away and the new 10-day disabled list a factor, my guess is that Zeke starts the season on the disabled list, which allows the Jays to keep Ryan Goins as a super-utility guy who can back up in both the infield and the outfield where needed.

 

Melvin Upton Jr., has a sore shoulder which has kept him out of action the last couple of days, so he could be a candidate for the disabled list, too. Upton says the problem is not a big one, so for now it's Carrera on the DL and Upton active, though they may switch spots later on.

It's not my fault he was tendered a contract. I would have been fine with a minor league deal.

I'm hoping that he's fine. It doesn't change the fact I don't want him on the roster.

Should this not open the door for Pompey? He's only had 9 at bats this Spring, homer, couple walks... Give him a chance, might become the best leadoff man on the team.

He's out indefinitely with a concussion so unfortunately no.
