They're not taking on an MLB contract for LF, they're just looking for a depth piece just in case Pearce's arm isn't outfield ready come opening day. They'll roll with Cecilanni for a week or two worst case.

Seems pretty clear that Pearce is going to be a 1B only at least to start the season. I don't really have a problem with that though the flexibility would have been nice.

Maybe this is optimistic but I expect him to be getting more starts than Smoak from day one.

Whatever we do in LF and 1st base i hope the team finds a way to keep Goins on the 25 man.

I would send Smoak to the minors or cut Upton and his 1 year deal in a heart beat. Goins over Zeke too.
