Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Whatever we do in LF and 1st base i hope the team finds a way to keep Goins on the 25 man. I would send Smoak to the minors or cut Upton and his 1 year deal in a heart beat. Goins over Zeke too. K...
SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Where does Mike Ohlman fit into the Jays' future? Farm filler or does he have a chance to be something? Once a top ten prospect in the Orioles system (2013). Seems to handle the bat well, and his defense seems playable in the majors. I couldn't find a lot of scouting reports on him. But I trust your opinions more, honestly. This fan seems him as a decent backup, possible starter in a year or two.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Not the worst idea He's not fast but .364 career OBP Don't need a fast guy leadoff when you have Donaldson, Morales, Martin etc hitting behind you. I think Bautista should hit there and Travis 6th or 7th.

Here's a story SN did a few days ago on him... plus I'll find a Scouting Report for you. http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/catcher-mike-ohlman-ready-seize-opportunity-blue-jays/ http://www.baseballprospectus.com/prospects/eyewitness_bat.php?reportid=178 http://redbirdrants.com/2016/01/15/st-louis-cardinals-2016-top-prospects-17-mike-ohlman/ Likely a future back-up.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 the movement Liriano gets is ridiculous. I really enjoy watching him pitch.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2017 Author Posted March 26, 2017 the movement Liriano gets is ridiculous. I really enjoy watching him pitch. He might be the best 5th starter in the American League
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 He might be the best 5th starter in the American League the jays have the best number 4 and number 5 pitchers in the AL. I just don't know which of the 5 would be labelled the number 4 and 5. They are all solid pitchers. I hope they stay healthy, knock on wood.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 I dont understand why Morales is DHing when he can just as well start at 1B and get some practice. Like Seriously 90% of spring this guy is Dhing. Is it really too much to ask for him to be prepared to take over at 1st and get some practice in. This is an old team, when Bautista or Donaldson has to DH is Morales going to sit? I just hate the idea of this stationary DH I just dont understand why he cant at least get himself f***ing ready for first base. Its like he is just okay parking his fat ass on the bench.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Prospect looks today: Josh Palacios and JB Woodman starting for Toronto. Chance Sisco and Trey Mancicni starting for Baltimore. Woodman looked really good singling off fringe LHP MLB SP and former Blue Jay org member Jayson Aquino. Chance Sisco looked a bit better throwing him out trying to steal.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Salty's receiving still pretty bad. Noticed he's using Martin's set up but he on the low pitch he brings his glove up but then back down.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Woodman just made a really nice catch in CF - good jump, speed, instincts on a sinking liner. I don't know much about him but he seems like a solid all around player.

I don't know much about him but he seems like a solid all around player. Seems to be a guy who could be an average CF defensively.... but his swing and miss is worrisome. 33% K rate in his debut of pro ball last year. Decent walk rate though.

Decent walk rate though. I assumed lefties were chewing him up down there, but he looked fine against them today. He didn't strike out an exorbitant amount in the SEC, but he also wasn't a high contact player (a bit under a strikeout per game while leading the SEC in homers). Who knows. A full season this year will show us all we need to know, likely. The obvious comparison is Michael Saunders. Maybe with slightly more boring tools than the youthful version of Saunders.
Gary Verified Member Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Arash Madani is creepy. He comes across as a pedophile who hangs out in his car and watches kids play in playgrounds.

Gary Verified Member Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 You know Family Guy is a cartoon right? Yes. I said it as a joke (mostly...Arash is still kinda creepy).
TBJ12 Verified Member Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Yes. I said it as a joke (mostly...Arash is still kinda creepy). That's not a joke dude. What's so creepy about him? That voice pays his bills, why change it? Your the creepy one here not Arash.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 banworthy? Are you guys f***ed? I'm not agreeing with the sentiment (although I do think Arash is a pretentious f***), but f*** off with the faux outrage.
