glory Old-Timey Member Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Promise Otani a rotation spot and the DH role. Release Morales if you have to. By any means necessary, make it happen.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 That .321 wOBA this year sure was impressive. That wasn't a reputation, it was a fact You're right. It was a fact that they were the 5th best offense in baseball. Sometimes you're such a tool that I'm almost positive you're just trolling.

Linked above you'll find all offenses ranked by their wRC+ over the last two seasons. You'll see that Seattle ranks in 2nd place. You'll also recall that you stated that they had a bad offense. Given the evidence presented, would you concede that you were mistaken? If so, please respond simply with "I was wrong" . Thx. Grant has never admitted being wrong. Idk how he's a scientist considering the whole premise of science is trying to prove established theories wrong, but there you go.

To someone who is not up to speed on the 14 year long grudges carried over from the MLB sanctioned board, this: That .321 wOBA this year sure was impressive. That wasn't a reputation, it was a fact Looks like a perfectly reasonable sarcastic response to this, which in itself appears to be a troll job: Seattle has been bad offensively for 10 years and nothing has changed. Are you saying that this was not the case and he is being serious?

Or Ben Carson according to libtards, apparently? (I think Carson is great)

Earlier this season Grant said that Seattle's offense has been bad for a decade and nothing has changed. People pointed out that he was wrong. Rather than admit that he was wrong (in which case this exchange would have lasted 3 posts and been forgotten forever) he did what Grant does and doubled, tripled, and quadrupled down on an argument that is objectively wrong.

As hard as it is to believe, he is serious that he thinks Seattle had a poor offense this season.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 So he's like Trump? Or Jimcanuck? Basically but more arrogant and entitled.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Basically but more arrogant and entitled. Too bad he doesn't have an interest in politics. We could use a man like him in OT.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 According to Phil Rogers the deal on the table is: Stanton and Ziegler for Reyes, Alcantara, Diaz and Grichuk I find it hard to believe that the Cards want Ziegler

Either way I agree there's no reason for anyone to covet Ziegler at this point in the off season.

Cbert Verified Member Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 There must be some money being eaten ... like a LOT of money being eaten. As great a farm system as the Cards have, I feel like these two just don't match up for this type of trade because of the reason you've mentioned. The Marlins seem hellbent on paring down their payroll significantly, and the Cards already have a payroll of close to $130mill going into next season. I don't think they've ever cracked 150mill, either. Can't see them being willing to give up all of that and shatter their payroll ceiling all in one go.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Looks like AA to the Braves is official. Lucky f***er landed on his feet quite well with that org.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Damn I hate that guy. Lucks out with the Dodgers and now the Braves. Still really happy he didn't get a ring this year.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Luckily for Braves fans, he can't trade for Dickey this off season.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Wow good for AA, Atlanta has to be one of the best jobs right now. Curious to see how he runs the Braves with what he's learned in LA.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Leaves Toronto as a hero to the mouth breathers, has someone else deal with the post 2015 decline that was unavoidable due to the old roster/butchered farm system, and then signs on with a team that is young with a s*** ton of prospects. Say what you want about AA, but dude is smart. He will probably keep all his prospects now just to f*** with us.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Josh Donaldson for Albies + Acuna. In Alex we trust
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 all that prospect collateral to trade Yeah, and I predict he moves on after making the playoffs, letting the next guy clean his mess and take all the flak.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 He'll rush guys to the majors then the Jays can snatch them when they 'bust'
Cleveland Steamer Verified Member Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Watch out for the Braves now. AA knows how to get it done.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Alex "slightly shittier Dave Dombrowski" Anthopoulos' That would be his ring name in UFC. Speaking of, I just pictured AA waddling along in the octagon and smiled.
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 He had to sell the future and double the team’s payroll for two good seasons here. I’m not expecting much success in Atlanta.
