That's alright, I'll take the heat.

This entire board has gone up against some dude who thinks he can outrun Bautista about Goins, and has been losing for four years, and refuses to admit defeat. None of you have demonstrated much of an ability to evaluate Ryan Goins' path in the MLB, I don't expect you guys to magically change now.

I like how DP’s opinion is so thoroughly disregarded that he posts something completely absurd and got one bite.

That seals it for me, I now believe the waiters account 100% from the alleged incident that took place at the restaurant. Kind of ironic how he takes a knee for police brutality then proceeds to point a gun at a delivery women. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he goes ahead and claims brutality with his arrest. Victimology 101.

Cripes. Oakland's going to start thinking he's not worth the media attention and trouble. They handed him the starting job down the stretch and he didn't do a whole lot with it and now he's turning himself into a media circus and possible threat to society. They won't be super keen to give him another opportunity if they were even considering it in the first place.

The better you are the more you can overcome these things but like you said he's not that great to begin with. For an okay backup to cause controversy by kneeling, the waiter story and now this gun charge they might be thinking of cutting him loose at this point. He's not worth all the trouble.

They can just trade him to the Rangers. He'd fit in quite well on that team!

Yup. He's a shitbag alright.

I like how you're sad IRL that your favourite message board of your favourite sports team is dying a slow death.

Umm, is this even a debate?

Reyes got an expensive DFA for domestic abuse rumours.

Chapman got lambasted for throwing a temper tantrum, albeit a stupid and dangerous one, in his garage.

This is next level s*** on a much more marginal talent, assuming the allegations are true.

Good points. Also, Colin Kaepernick found himself black-balled for kneeling, albeit in a different league. Imagine if he had a gun charge on top of it. I think baseball has enough cheap teams that Maxwell may get another shot but it wouldn't surprise me if he was done in MLB either. Maybe a Korean or Japanese team would take a chance on him.

Can I just ask again for the record: WHO THE f*** IS BRUCE MAXWELL?

---

Bruce Maxwell was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon Saturday evening at his Scottsdale, Arizona home, according to TMZ Sports.

The report says that Maxwell pulled a gun and pointed it at a female food delivery driver. It's unclear what led up to the incident. Maxwell was booked on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct and is in custody awaiting his initial appearance in front of a judge. Obviously, there's a lot that must play out here but Maxwell is certainly facing a future suspension from MLB.

Man would I love to watch Stanton get 81 games at the Rogers center. If we could get him without giving up our top prospects would be pretty sweet.

Not to mention the games he'd play in Boston and NY. I think it's probably a pipe dream though.

Not sure this deserves its own thread but:

Marlins Look to Trade Stanton, Gordon, Prado this Off-Season

I know its next to impossible for us to have a shot at Stanton, but I guess we can also go for Dee Gordon

Marlins fans have had it tough for years now and it's going to be a full rebuild (which should have started straight after Jose Fernandez) that they'll have to put up with for 4-5 more years.

If they dont get a good return for Stanton I'd be pretty ticked as a Marlins fan. Jeter is basically paying himself back over the next few years for the money he initially invested into the club

Yeah basically. They need to cut costs and rebuild, the pitching and farm are s*** and I think they both lost money and are in debt, plus I think Jeter and Co were scrambling to have enough money for a bid. I can see them going into Rays mode for a few years until they get their s*** together.

As for Stanton, I don't think anyone will give them anything really good unless they eat a large amount of that huge contract. If money is such an issue where they need most of it off their tab, I doubt anyone will give them much (or as much as people would expect) for Stanton. It will be an interesting off season

A's are looking to move Ryon Healy if anyone wants a DH who can't field, can't hit, can't run and has no patience.

A young man's version of Kendrys Morales.

^ Owns Maxwell in fantasy

I thought most of the fantasy owners were intimately familiar with the KATOH lists which is why I'm surprised by "the who the hell is Maxwell" posts coming from the fantasy side of the board (it's not at all surprising from anyone else). As for my personal Maxwell stake in LOD, he's really just a place holder for Mesoraco's red flag at this point. I did have hopes for him at one point and have rostered him on and off in both LOD and DDL over the last two years but at this point I don't even consider him a worthwhile sleeper much less an asset. Tons of baggage from a guy who was never more than a fringy prospect in the first place.

Gordon is coming off a good season but is risky due to being a BABIP/speed guy. Still might be worth a shot if it costs nothing to get him since Travis is sure to miss a large chunk of the season again and having Ryan f'n Goins eating up 450 plate appearances as the backup is something no one should ever be subjected to again.

Damn, just saw Sogard re-signed with the Brewers for a year (at a cheap price). They better damn well trade for a utility infielder.

Craig: What kind of difference would Hand or Britton have made for Houston this postseason?

Dave Cameron: Who knows? Giles is better than Hand by a lot, and similar in talent to Britton, and he’s been terrible.

---

Does Dave Cameron even watch baseball? By which metric would we consider Giles "better than Hand by a lot"??

Better question, having known that Dave Cameron is a huge moron for a number of years, why do you still take him seriously?
