I'd rather Bats in RF and Tulo, Martin or Saunders at DH. They have an off day tomorrow.

I'd prefer that as well but I'm fine with today's lineup. Hopefully they pinch hit Martin for Thole when Dickey is done for the day.

It seems like all of the long time Jays have done it a couple of times. EE, Hill, Lind, Wells, even Zaun...Hell, I remember Corey Patterson, John McDonald, and Ryan Goins doing it lol.

EE has like 6. lol

Edwin having a good year but after watching another K last night on a pitch away I had a look.

2015 - 98Ks

2016 - 87Ks to date

K rate 20%. Its come down a lot from a slow start but its still up 5% from last couple seasons.

Yea, though honestly he seems like he's just having a regular EE year. I can't stand Tabler constantly saying how Edwin is having his best season ever because of the are-bee-eyes. Then they immediately show his mediocre RISP stats.

I don't mind the lineup in that these guys can all pinch hit if it's really necessary. If you can get away with giving these guys some extra rest, go for it.

I still love Eddy man, his BB rate is efficient.

You've got a lot of nerve saying something so sensible and reasonable around these parts.

absolutely. His wRC+ is down from the last 3 years 150s. He is K'ing more but his BB rate is his norm. Hopefully he goes on a holy tear. I don't think we have seen the best of the E-Rex yet this season, despite dem ribees.

Ok this really pisses me off. The biggest change (which is producing significantly better results) appears to be he's gone back to the 4 seamer (and away from the 2 seamer). The real question is - why was he throwing the 2 seamer so much early in the season? I guess there's a chance he starts hanging out with Sanchez and Stro and they are pumping the benefits of the 2 seamer and he decides it's a good idea to change his approach, but I'd have to assume it was influenced by this pitch to contact ******** (that's ruined Stroman) that the organization is promoting.

The guy is lights out for 18 starts last year and what do we do? Try and change him and his pitch sequencing.

I really hope he's given up on that nonsense and it back to doing to the things that made him amazing in Pittsburgh last year. If he is, he provides significant value to this team. I also hope Stroman's seen the light...

Have to think the whole contract thing (and trying to get more $$) might be playing on his psyche a bit. He has had a lot of poor at bats where it's literally swinging for the fences (and winding up with nothing), especially with RISP this year.

Anyone think we could get anything of value for Carrera now that we have Upton? He still has club control and has had a decent season but is a big redundancy for us now with Upton on the team.

Of value? Nah, I can't see it.

Maybe a rental reliever? But I doubt one that's very good.

Estevez in vs. The Orioles to close it out and gets the first one... A loss here would mean standings stay as they were yesterday, 2GB!

Yep. Happ has always discussed how much he loves Pete Walker and listens to him like gospel, and, low and behold.. It's good that he's back to using mostly 4SM now. Stroman could learn a lot.

Are there any ways to trade or release Dickey? I just dont wanna see him pitching for the team and he has been awful

No.

It's actually pretty stupid. It's not like you can just f***ing abolish the two seamer/sinker. You seem to speak as if 2s usg should just continue to progress towards 0 or something. It's a useful pitch when you use it right, just like any other pitch.

You can't fix every single pitching thing by saying, "He's not throwing this kind of pitch enough! He listens to his pitching coach who is promoting the evils of this pitch! He should ignore his pitching coach and denounce him in the media." Like, you think Happ is gonna say, "Walker, yeah, f***in hate that guy?" Jesus. You post some variation of that several times a day fairly frequently. That's not how it works. There are many things that make a pitcher good, and it is not limited to whether he throws a 4s or a 2s.

Halladay and Webb were pretty decent.

There would be a robust market for him, but I'm not sure it would be the smartest thing to do given our SP depth. It's best to keep an even keel and realize that he helps this team win.

This. I highly doubt our front office is as reactionary as the posters of this forum
