mellowgold Verified Member Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 I actually do kind of like Upton and pillar back to back in the lineup. Those two have made some things happen with their speed recently.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 don't forget Condor too. He's not a base clogger!
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Gibby got the positions right at least IMO. I'd tweak the lineup a little bit but it's close enough. And a gigantic LOL @ that Orioles OF defense. I'd say that's without a doubt the best 9 the Jays have put on a field together in a long, long time. I'm not a fan of #9 Travis, but everyone is probably in the best possible position to succeed given health concerns. Is there a reason why Alvarez is hitting #2 for Baltimore? Is there a matchup excuse v Happ or is this just a case of using any warm body there because of a stubborn refusal to use the best guy (Machado)?

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 I don't understand why Upton is in LF and Saunders is in RF. Can someone explain that one to me?
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 I don't understand why Upton is in LF and Saunders is in RF. Can someone explain that one to me? Gibby Gibbed
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Gibby Gibbed Could be player preference.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 I don't understand why Upton is in LF and Saunders is in RF. Can someone explain that one to me? I'm not really sure. Upton never really played LF or RF until this year and he's got 95 career games in LF and just 3 in RF. Saunders has played 240-something in LF and about half that in RF. Could be like Spanky said, maybe Upton just likes LF and Saunders prefers RF so Gibby goes with it.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 I don't understand why Upton is in LF and Saunders is in RF. Can someone explain that one to me? Probably throwing arm. Saunders might be better than Upton so he plays RF. Who knows though with Gibby.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 I don't understand why Upton is in LF and Saunders is in RF. Can someone explain that one to me? What's the difference? I'm pretty sure they have the exact same positional adjustment, it's not like the wall in RF at Camden Yards is noticeably more difficult.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Probably throwing arm. Saunders might be better than Upton so he plays RF. Who knows though with Gibby. I would imagine Upton has just as good if not better of an arm than Saunders. He used to have a cannon back in the day.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 I don't understand why Upton is in LF and Saunders is in RF. Can someone explain that one to me? Upton is the new guy in the hood... He should sit where the old guys want he sit.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 LF gets more balls hit to them with a RHH heavy lineup, so you put the better glove guy there.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Goins was pulled in the middle of tonight's game in Buffalo. Possibly traded?
Steveorama Verified Member Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Gotta be a trade. Pulled from ondeck circle, grabbed all his bats and went down the tunnel. Don't think he'd grab his bats for a death in the family or anything like that?
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 I can't imagine living in a world where another MLB team trades for Ryan Goins.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 He either got traded or is about to get traded.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Sad day if we lose both Goins and Gruber
AttaBoy Verified Member Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Could someone want Goins purely as a late inning defensive specialist? Nah.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Could someone want Goins purely as a late inning defensive specialist? Nah. Some contender with an absolutely atrocious backup middle infield situation I guess.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 That is one anti-climatic result.
Governator Community Moderator Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Well it was a fun thought.
