In the other thread I was assuming Bryant was mainly a 3B that's also why I didn't like that idea, need to see him more at other positions. I would entertain Hoffman for Trout since Trout has proven himself over 3 seasons. We have a CF but Trout is wayyyyyy better. Then could possible trad Pompey+ for pitching

Edit: Harper-No ;Stanton-wait and see, Cutch-Not right now

hahahahahahah

holy f*** this is some high level entertainment value.

Tell me when you pass it

Yes, I will tell you when I pass a test that doesn't exist.

See, if you don't know anything about baseball (and you don't) it is usually advisable to shut up and not make yourself look like a moron. I wouldn't go to figureskating.com and try to convince everyone that Elvis Stojko is the greatest of all time.

Hoff will be a perennial twenty game winnah. Don't be silly.

Remember, Hoff has a Gerrit Cole floor. I wouldn't even trade Gerrit Cole for Bryce Harper, let alone a guy with his FLOOR.

do you also realize that they are making fun of you? lol you've made it into a sport mate. I give you props for dragging them away from the off topic section, but you really should listen to the guys who know the numbers.

but if you dont mind them picking on you, have at it.

I realize it. I also realize 21 teams passed on Trout so who knows what will happen down the road

ftfy

it's ok to point out his short comings but keep it "nice" lol

Elvis Stojko is a black belt and kicked Eric Lindros ass because Lindross told him he should play a man's sport.

don't diss the Stojko

Being serious. Doesn't mean much since it's all hypothetical

Well, if you're serious, don't make babies and may God have mercy on your soul.

Good on the Fan590 morning to show to really go after Gibby. I almost enjoyed the rants as much as I do a win.

If you guys missed it check it out, good stuff

So you wouldn't trade Hoffman (possible top-10 prospect) for McCutchen (NL MVP) straight up?

This kind of analysis reminds me of when we dealt a couple to 5 prospects for the NL Cy Young winner...

Come on guys. Keep this on topic.

Gibbons deserves as much hatred and scorn as possible.

I don't agree with firing Gibbons... but if it will be done at some time this season it might as well be now. Give the new manager 140 games to work with. It wouldn't be fair to a new manager to start 10 games back.

OK -- negotiations -- fire Gibbons -- in return

1. Move Pompey back to center --- Pillar is great but we shouldn't flip the long term centerfielder to left based on a fairly small sample size.

2. Make Osuna (edit!) and (edit!) Castro long relievers -- 2 3 innings a time, semi piggy pack with Sanchez/Norris or as situation dictates. They can still be put in pressure situations.

3. Smoak at first base --

4. DL Bautista until he is healthy

5. Pillar/Saunders platoon -- this makes sure 3. happens. Pillar as platoon mate late inning replacement is fine.

6. Kawasaki at short until Reyes is healthy -- I don't see any evidence that Goins/Diaz is better then Kawasaki -- Kawasaki has always looked OK at short... got on base a bit. His role is injury replacement ss, and he is OK that role and should be used at that role. Kawasaki = .240 .310 .300 or something -- Goins/Diaz are .210 .250 .260 -- Use Kawasaki please.

There is probably more... but those would be my demands.

Edit! sorry about typos and misnamings... I am in complete despair. I often make mistakes like that but they are getting worse after 20+ years of complete despair, and so much recent despair from Beeston and friends.

I have kids that are older than most people in here.

Slightly creepy.

lol...drawing parallels between a near 40 year old one year wonder with a gimmick pitch to a guy (28) who plays 150+ games per year and consistently hits 150 wRC+ on the year with a great contract for the next 3 years.

Would love to see us trade for Cueto and put Sanchez in the pen. Would make us so much better.

Cueto, so who do we give up?

*shits and giggles*

Everyone likes to light up gibbons, but the Jays pitching staff is ranked in the bottom of just about every statistical category available. This is a super power offensive club with very little pitching right now, as alot of people on this site predicted even before Stroman went down with injury. I'm sorry but removing Gibbons as manager does little to rectify the fact that this team is devoid of quality pitching. But everyone needs a scapegoat I guess.

Gibbons seems to have made the adjustments he needed to make in the bullpen. He took Castro out of the closer's role and re-inserted Cecil. He gave more leverage to the relievers who have been the most effective so far, Estrada and Hendriks. Really the only other things that could be done to improve the bullpen would be personnel changes and that's not on him.

Swap Sanchez and Estrada's roles, and that's probably the only thing left that he could do to improve the team. Outside of that, he needs to start using the best arms at the most important times and stop trying to pigeon hole Castro into anything other than low leverage situations (or just send him down).

they have other guys in AAA who could come in and take care of low leverage situations while Castro goes to AA to become a better pitcher. Kid has a s*** load of talent and raw power, but he really needs to learn to repeat his delivery. what they are doing now is hurting his learning curve.
