Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Stop with the semantics, you know what he means No I didn't. The Joe Torre comment was obvious hyperbole, the post wasn't angry at all and I wasn't only responding to him. Then there was the Joe Carter comment that I didn't really understand.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Reyes back in the lineup ... Bautista back in the outfield ... and (most importantly) the starting pitching staying steady ... and the Jays are capable of reeling off 10 in a row with or without Gibbons. With the flux of the AL East, it's a real possibility. The division is utter trash right now.. with no clear cut contender. Yanks are fading as badly as the Jays, BTW.. 1-9 in their last 10. But that's more due to Ellsbury's injury and a lack of pitching depth.. Boston's still a question mark, no idea on the O's, and I can't see Tampa holding up long term due to inconsistent offense and a weak rotation after Archer and Odorizzi(and BTW, they stupidly sent down Tim Beckham because he had options, and their bullpen is REALLY taxed.. most innings in the AL, because of lack of length after Archer/Odorizzi.)
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 If Gibbons goes, I can see DeMarlo Hale taking over on interim.. but when?
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Reactionary thread keeps on reacting! The Hott mess and underachieving is not his fault. Bipolar team, pitching better, hitting sucks and when we were hitting the pitching sucked!

goeb Verified Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 I think it is time to axe AA....No Manager can win a division with this rotation. He is responsible for building this rotation and didn't put a contingency plan in place this year if his young guys faltered.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Look what Kevin Cash is doing with the Rays. Cash was the one who fixed Carrasco in Cleveland, and suggested the Indians get Gomes from the Jays. That team that some predicted to fail will probably win the division with worse injuries than the Jays. No wonder this franchise sucks. We have people willing to look stupid to defend John f'n Gibbons, when other teams hire managers that make players better.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Lol Carrasco credits Cash for his turnaround, and it's been reported that Cash was behind Cleveland acquiring Gomes. Or were you laughing because you read one of your own posts, and quoted mine by accident?

This franchise has done poorly I'm recognizing and assessing internal talent
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Just getting rid of Farrell cost this team Gomes
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 This. /end thread Yeah, if this thread could end that would be great. Hope you're right!
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Another excellent call, not using Delebar and Osuna for 7th/8th and going with Loup. Its not Loup has pitched bad this year, and just about blown up 3-4 games by himself
glory Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 This thread shall live on as long as Gibby is still employed. Demarlo can't possibly be worse than the wobbly redneck. Make the change now, and then thank me after the 2nd half run.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Ignore the fact that Loup has pitched pretty well this year...
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Ignore the fact that Loup has pitched pretty well this year... He has, but his xFIP against righties versus 0.61 points higher. If you regress that appropriately, I would think there is still a difference, which makes it confusing as to why Loup has faced 26 lefties to 51 righties.
LTR Verified Member Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Ignore the fact that Loup has pitched pretty well this year... He's being grossly mismanaged.
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 I believe he has cost more games than he has won via coaching. That is usually a good recipe for getting fired. Unless of course you have photos of AA in a compromising position.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 We are getting closer to my "fire Gibby and go on a 2nd half run" prediction. Just a matter of how long the Fat Greek wants to wait. If he waits too long, he will have wasted a golden opportunity.
youngtea Verified Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 there will be a 2nd half run with or without Gibbons. Not really with our current roster. No pitching, no hitting, no defense. The roster is horrible, but so is Gibbons.
