Shapiro said yesterday on PTS, that they all sat down with their stat guys, and everyone had input.

They all sat down but he also said it was Gibby's wish to have Stroman start the game.

FTR, I think there was probably only one manager significantly better rhan Gibbons who made the AL post season (Francona)

Yes, I mentioned this in the who starts the WC thread. Team decision, ultimately it was Gibbons as said, but it still was a team decision. Shapiro also said he looks forward to working with Gibbons for years to come. Hah... people are going to go nuts. ;)

I'm not going to miss him to be honest. Although i've been indifferent/leaning to liking him since 2017/2018 were write off seasons, hes a pretty charismatic guy so having him around during those awful years was fine.

This thread is awesome

But seriously...Gibbons was such a great guy. He got better as a manager as the years went on. Still don't think he should have been hired or kept as long as he was

Your conclusion makes no sense at all.

Just because he got better doesn't mean he was ever good or should have been rehired in the first place.

Do you have a manager rating system to quantify how much positive or negative impact managers have on their teams, or is this the same system that told you we shouldn't have traded Jeff Hoffman for Mike Trout?

McCutchen and yes I have a system...fired/let go 1 time means you shouldn't be rehired by the same team
