mphenhef Verified Member Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Why doesn't Tyler Rogers come into games with runners on more often (only once this year). Like 1 out with runners on 1st and 3rd like tonight wouldn't a ground ball machine be a good call? Stangstag 1

A fair answer except idk why he tried to stretch him for a 2nd inning. Playing with fire He always tries to be sneaky efficient but it burns him half the time. He's a stubborn man that's for sure.

Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I'd say Lauer's days as a Jay are nearing the end. Not pitching very good and becoming a malcontent in a very tight knit locker room it seems.

Not sure why the dude is being such a primadonna And with a couple SPs close to coming back he's going to have to go back to the pen more than likely, which won't make him any happier I would imagine. If they hadn't brought in Corbin I'd say make him tough it out, because we could certainly use another solid pen/bulk arm option, but the whining must be getting tiresome.

Hes just filling in due to injuries at the moment. Should have different expectations for different players :) Were you not pushing for him to be our high leverage lefty out of the pen this offseason? Or was that your brother? Spanky__99 1

I mentioned not having a high leverage lefty out of the pen and a true closer as our gaps in the pen. Lauer was supposed to be the long man out of the pen (our Yarborough pretty much) but i wouldnt have minded to see him getting a turn in that role out of necessity with only Little/Fluharty there. We havent seen what Lauer would look like out of the pen due to our injuries. I also wouldnt be a damn homer if he s*** the bed either lol. Stangstag 1

And how do you think his stuff will play up in the pen? I am curious

Hes only in the rotation right now because we have injuries but good luck finding a better 8th starter on most teams. We need a long man out of the pen anyways so thats where id like him (as our Yarboroughl). Obviously his stuff doesnt scream "high leverage" guy out of the pen but we dont have any lefties other than Fluharty so im sure he'd get opportunities by default anyways. Then you let performance dictate where to go from there. Spanky__99 1

Also, 3-0 He'll be the new closer by June Stangstag 1
